Jayawardene was an injury replacement for Pollard so who knows what is going on there.

Rashid should stay as the Strikers coach is also his county coach.....provided he's not playing internationals next season.

Yep I reckon he signed at Brisbane for 3 years at the start of this season

Rightio then. Thanks for clearing that up.
Obviously Jarman on the money again

For what it's worth, I would keep both our current imports if possible and try to poach a fast bowler form one of the other franchises.
Not quite sure who has time left on their contracts, but a lefty like Paris or Behrendorf would be nice.

How much longer is Hodge contracted for?

Jayawardene
Dean
Head
Ross
Hodge
Lehmann
Luderman
Rashid/Pollard
Neser/Richo
Laughlin
New Quick

Still has a nice ring to it.

Anyway, I loved every game I went to with the exception of the Semi.
Didn't like Mark Waugh's commentary much, but I did like watching him as a player, always.

I'd take Rashid over Pollard and I'd sooner Neser find another franchise to play for.

As much as I like your idea of gaining Behrendorf, I don't think we'll ever get him across the border, he's generally my first picked in my fantasy league team.

That team requires Head to bowl 4 overs each and every game, he's not up to that level. I think as good as Jayawardene was, for team balance we need someone that can bat and bowl in his place. If we are to retain Ludeman he bats below Rashid.

Remembered I read this article and yes Daisy he signed for 3 years with Brisbane.

Maybe a quick Google search by Andrew Jarman would of showed him his rumour to be false.

Hodge has another season to go on his contract with the Strikers the problem is though so does Craig Simmons.

Yes, Simmons contract is a problem. He has not lived up to expectations for us.
Pollard for Jayawardene gives us the extra bowling option, but I think Head will be given more opportunity next season to bowl.
I can also see Head opening next season as well.

A lot to ponder before next year.

I reckon head being a bowling option was one of the reasons he got selected in the world T20 squad too. very handy to get an over or two out of. Wouldnt wanna rely on him though. But i think thats one of the reasons why the strikers did so well, their bowling attack was very well balanced, with the ability to between 4 and 12 overs of spin if required

Has the rules regarding BBL signings changed? This is how Jamie Cox was sacked from SACA as both he and Darren Berry were caught making commitments outside the transfer window.....

They probably had a bucketload of cash since only Lynn was worth more than a few cents. Even their imports must have been cheap they were that rubbish.

Hopefully soon the BBL will open up a third international slot and boost the pay of players. Nothing better than a few more internationals to increase interest and more cash means bigger names.

There's enough scope and attendance's warranting it.

Am I right thinking that the salary cap is $1M still?

It does amaze me how they can get big name players for a month and fit them all in under $1M, obviously accommodation, food and expenses wouldn't come under the cap either.
