The organisers really do a fantastic job of the event. It's like one big outdoor party with a game of cricket breaking out in the midst of it.

Getting drink and food was easy, the toilets weren't too bad and the kids were pretty much entertained from go to woe.

I don't know if I'd go again though. The one thing I found really annoying, was that there weren't replays of close calls or dismissals. The obvious reason for that is as I said, it's a party interrupted by cricket. Not my ideal but obviously it is for thousands. My kids loved it and were among the throng who rose as one when Lehmann hit the winning runs.

Have to agree with a lot of that, I go to the cricket to watch cricket not all the other stuff but I can definately see why kids love it. Seems to be really well organised and set up. What the hell is that coeeeee call that goes on from time to time, does my head in

I know! My boy is 6 and he asked me the exact thing. And the Harry Belafonte thing is anti climactic. If my 6 yo is getting sick of it, it'll mean they have to come up with something new pretty quick to keep him (and no doubt squillions of others) interested for years to come. And therein lies the challenge I suppose.

It didn't though.

If Tim Paine & the bowler set the field right it would have been down the long off fielder's throat....

OR, better still, he should've bowled to his field.

Christ Mel's interview of David Hussey was almost as bad as his strange ******* answers.

If she wasnt tidy as all hell she would not be on TV.

So I watched my first WBBL match today

So I watched my last WBBL match today

Im all for equality and good for them for having a go but it's fielding that stood out to me as the worst area.

I did see one of the worst wicket celebrations I have ever seen from a fast bowler ripping them down at just over 100. Comical

Without all the flash and fancy of BBL the commentary team of Maher and that other Mel was excruciating and Blushy Mel on the boundary adds very little. Starcy was in the box but didn't say much.

As I said nothing against the girls that play and have a go and it's awesome that they have a genuine pathway now but as a spectator and a cricket lover I found it hard to watch.

Eh, it wasn't that bad, once you remove any expectation of them bowling thunderbolts or belting sixes.

So would you regularly tune in to watch a game?

Just saying I gave it a chance as I have nothing on the agenda today but won't be making time for it in the future.

The other thing that stood out to me is that I have heard the name Stallaker or whatever her name is for years and assume she's one of the stars. I watched her bowl today and am extremely confident I could head down to Ingle Farm Oval and see a better spinner than her.

I don't even regularly tune into the BBL, so it's a moot point. I just happened to be on the couch icing various bodyparts.

For a team the nearly won the BBL last year the 6ers really are puss. Lead by the fat, toupe wearing park opening bowler Doug who went at nearly 14 an over. Theses spuds deserve to finish bottom.

Hopefully provide some fireworks chasing over 200.

Tonight's Andy Maher quote of the night "Does anyone actually have any idea why Hussey is retiring?"
Junior ; "yeah, his age"

Lisa Sthalkar is 36 years old and retired from international cricket.

Remember watching a 17 year old Ellyse Perry and keeping my mouth shut as she would have been able to stitch me up

Professional women's cricket and golf for that matter is probably the most realistic thing a men's amateur could watch to improve themselves.
