ah, so this will be a "get smashed in the final" year rather than a "not win a game year" :D

Would this be the 1st time EVER that SA have won a one dayer after their opponent batted 1st and put on a 200 + opening partnership ?????

OK So what do we make of the win?

Redbacks have 2 class batsmen in their side, a handy keeper/ batsman, a couple of steady pacemen in Putland and Richardson and Zampa must have bowled ok looking at his economy rate.

Is this enough to go far in this comp? Great effort to get the job done today which may just give the lesser lights a boost in confidence to improve the depth of the squad which they need to do

They have the right man in charge in Siddons, just up to the players to listen, learn and keep working hard.

Think Cooper is the key to the batting, is experienced, has shown so much ability but consistency lets him down.

Was at the game and what a pleasure it was.

Head, Bancroft, Ferg and Marsh all outstanding. Its a shame no Bangladesh but now we have the strongest domestic ODI tournament for a long long time.

I'm torn how much to read into the win - it's obviously superb that we have managed to show some fight and not only score runs but chase down a large total, but on the other side it's a pathetic sized ground, really doesn't give us a true indication of how we will go - and with only 8 wickets in the match obviously wasn't much there for the bowlers either.

I think though with Head and Ferguson yesterday, and the reports on Cossie, that the pre-season fitness program of Schwerd is paying off - and with increased fitness comes increased concentration so hopefully that translates to longer time at the crease this summer.

I for one am a little excited about this summer, SACA have done well putting key people in the right positions.. Siddons, Schwerd, Head (C)

Worried that Trav and Ferguson will get pinched for international cricket if they keep that sort of form up.

If both fail then we might struggle. But so would any team with your best 2 bats....except maybe NSW because the have 6!

Cosgrove to come back into the lineup will help bolster the batting for SS, Cooper is more than capable just need a Smith or Raphael to step up a bit.

What about Sayers? Where's he at? Did he have surgery?

I did like Ludeman at the top actually, he's shown he can be a very dangerous T20 player so why not throw him in there in the OD stuff!

Anyone know why there is NO TV coverage at all..... I mean not even Foxtel. I get it probably doesn't rate, but I would rather watch some cricket on a hot arvo, than the bloody slowdown FFS!

CA probably blew the budget fielding the CA XI side - no $$ for TV

Ah nah don't know why - I know they streamed the CA game yesterday, my guess could be because some of the grounds aren't setup for media? No idea
