In my opinion there are only 3 teams that are a genuine chance to win us, Saffers and my dark horse NZ who I rate a huge chance.

Who's your tip?

I'm on your line of thinking, In the fact that one of them 3 will win it. I've liked the Kiwis for the World Cup for a few months now, Saffas are always around the mark and you can never write off India. Australia should go well at home although I think they're paying massive unders at the minute.

Kiwis the value bet in that market. Wouldn't touch the Aussies under $4.75-$5 to many unanswered questions.

If I had a $100 free bet I'd be on the Kiwis at that price.

Enough destructive batsmen, a couple of other genuine batting talents as well. Throw in good pace and spinning stocks and every game at home and they seem a certainty for the quarters and think they will go a lot further from there.

Australia are no certainty. I know we knocked off the Saffers 4-1 recently but I think they would have learnt a lot from that and have a stronger team come March.

I reckon the recent test tour will have really helped a lot of their players adapt to our conditions

Have really been kissed on the dick with the draw with there two games in Aus are at Adelaide and Melbourne, two pitches that really suit them and the small New Zealand grounds right to there liking as well

Quaters/Semi/Finals being played at Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide are perfect for this mob

Got the easier pool as well imho

India too thin with the ball I reckon. Dhoni is a different player in pyjamas and they do have a few other blokes with class and form with the bat, although there are probably question marks over a few spots. I just don't see their bowling as doing the job when you compare to the quicks Australia will have trotting out.

Yep Saffers for mine too. (Hope Im wrong and it's either us or the Kiwis)

Agree quicks are thin but I reckon at the scg, mcg and AO it will be the spinners who will do the damage

i reckon the kiwis are also a good bet. they are in form at the moment, and they have some world class quicks, vettori is still one of the best one day spinners going around, and they have some batters that can do some real damage.

Australia are still the favourites though, and i think they will win.

I don't think they will be as effective as that. One day strips tend to closely resemble a day 1 or 2 test pitch. The spinners might get something but I don't think it'll be too deadly. Even then, how many spin overs will there be? Can't see them picking 2 specialist spinners which most likely means 10 overs from a front line spinner. Keep him to 40 off those 10 even for a couple of wickets and then plunder those average quicks and part timers.

Reckon they will play a front line spinner plus jadeja who is a pretty effective one day bowler and will bat around 7

Abit like the way t20 have headed spinners seem to be the key as nearly all batsmen now days are looking for the pace on the ball

Anyway I guess time will tell

One of my keepers wouldn't make the squad and one of Cummins, Hazelwood and Pattinson would make up my 15 man squad

Reckon Doherty will make the squad too but mostly won't play if maxwell bowls well. Other than that I think it is pretty good. Not sure if white will make it, and they will definitely play 6 bowlers including marsh and Watson.

Agree about White possibly not making it

Just personally I think his the most versatile batsmen in Oz, can open bat 3,4,5,6,7 and can do either of these roles extremely well so would be the perfect option as a squad player especially with injury clouds always surronding Mitch Marsh and Watson (not sure how strict the replacement rules are for adding blokes to the squad)

Gut feeling tells me if there is a back up spinner behind Maxwell it maybe Ashton Agar, I reckon don't believe any of our spinners are good enough in the ODI so there looking for a 'handy' spinner who could be extremely valuable with the bat and in the field. But agree Doherty is probably around the mark

Yeah agar would get a look in - might be why they added him to the test squad, just to get him around the setup again. And his batting and fielding is extremely handy.

I think our lower order could win it for us. No other team in the world have the batting marsh, Faulkner, maxwell, Starc, Johnson, Watson have. Starc or Johnson at 10 is insane. And we have good finishers too

Yep 100% agree our batting depth and hitting ability is our major strength especially against the saffies and India who tend to have star quality but lack depth

It'll be interesting to see if Harris gets picked, given that he hasn't played an ODI in three seasons. I hope he does but the selectors have funny ideas about certain players not being suitable for one-day cricket.

I think it will be all about getting him through the next ashes. If he can do that and a World Cup then he gets picked.

Ive been saying India to win for the last 6 months, not going to change now.
Just have a horrible feeling we will bow out in the semis.
Lankans the dark horses for me.
Hopefully the Saffers find their usual way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, seeing them fail will ease the pain if we dont win it

Australia but only because it's at home and we have no one stand out player that can't be replaced should we get injuries.

If the Saffers lose AB or Steyn I can't see them winning
