Cricket Victoria are using Junction Oval for political reasons. Serves them right. Have played the 2nd half of the season home games in Alice Springs and Adelaide. Suddenly the Junction Oval is ok to use?

No, they (VIC ) are saying Junction Oval is no good, so how about we play it in Tassie?

Voges wins the Shield player of the year . Klinger 2nd and then Siddle.
Voges currently 8th on the most runs in a shield season list.

Marcus North won the Shield player last year and Ricky Ponting the year before that . Lot of old blokes mentioned !

Shield final confirmed for Hobart.
Not sure if the Vics can provide their own pitch curator though :D

I personally think the once prestigious Sheffield Shield is a borderline laughing stock having the Final in a neutral State. This following on from the one month one day comp that had the same thing happen. Not bloody good enough CA.

The ODD comp is an absolute shambles and has lost all of it's integrity, it used to be good heading into AO and having a relaxing day on the hill watching it.

Rain halted play early with :

WA 421

Vic 3/288

Stoinis 43*
Handscomb 16*

Coulter-Nile 1/67
Mackin 1/40
Agar 1/78

105 overs to be bowled today and you'd think WA will bowl pretty much most of them. With two days to play ( one being 105 overs today ) it's either quick wickets for WA or it's another Victorian Sheffield Shield win.

surely its time for perhaps the Shield to have a 'finals series' where both teams are playing to win??

Yeah, without checking, I'm pretty sure we've had mammoth scores for a long period of time in the final.
