SACA response re CA integrity unit sanctions

19 June, 2014
The South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) today has accepted Cricket Australia’s (CA) determination that SACA has breached the BBL Player Contracting and Remuneration Guidelines in respect of contract negotiations involving three players.
As a result, the following penalties have been imposed on SACA:
• A fine of $50,000, with $20,000 to be suspended for three years pending no further breaches within that timeframe.
• The Association has been suspended from utilising the services of Jamie Cox in any capacity relating to the Adelaide Strikers team until the end of the 2014/15 BBL season.
SACA Chief Executive, Keith Bradshaw said “I was advised on 13 May that SACA was under investigation for possible breaches of the BBL contracting rules and we have fully cooperated since that time."
“No other SACA employees have been found to have engaged in conduct breaching the Guidelines.”
“We are undertaking a thorough and independent review to ensure we have good systems in place going forward to avoid a recurrence.”
“Cricket Australia’s findings do not impact our current negotiations with the relevant players and we hope to be able announce the outcomes of those negotiations very soon.”

The last dot point implies that Jamie Cox could get his job back but not have any dealings with the Strikers organisation???

He was sacked by SACA for breaching their policies, they won't be hiring him back.

Will SACA be able to out bid Yorkshire for his services?? Jason's mum would be ecstatic if he decided to head home.

Also leaves a long time with the position not filled as the county season just about to hit the halfway mark....
