Exhibition All Australian Test Match

Postby cokadonkeytoo » Wed Jan 01, 2014 8:15 pm

How good would it be with the growing group of talented cricketers to see a Australia vs Australia test. I think for the first time in a long time we could put another side out and have a very competitive game. What sort of side would Australia A be able to put on the park?

FINCH
SILK/DOOLAN
M. KLINGER
P. HUGHES
A. VOGES
M. MARSH
M. WADE
J. PATTINSON
M. STARC
not sure who the spinner would be ( lots at the same level)
J. BIRD
Get that corn outta my face!!

disagree, Am Aus A side would beat the majority of test sides in aus conditions i reckon.
Would make some changes though Finch isn't the best opener in aus. Would have

Klinger
Silk
Doolan
Hughes
Maddinson
Ferguson
Wade/paine
Coulter Nile
Okeefe
Pattinson
Bollinger

If I was choosing one to play for my life

With a full complement of quicks our bowling would be ok but the batting would be very thin. If you've got bowlers you'll always be a chance but those batters aren't going to post a good score too often.

I remember the 90s when we could have had the top 2 ranked sides and a third better than some of the other test nations. Murray Goodwin being more successful in tests than playing first class in Aus was proof of that.

The pace bowling is strong, but batting still weak at Test standard. I think we are still trying to find 6 batsman good enough to fill the number 1 side.
