4th Test starts tonight
Agar has been replaced in the squad by Bird.
Bird will probably play and Starc to carry the drinks but still some talk that Harris might be rested.
Warner will open for the remainder of the series and Watson will bat down the order according to Boof

Bird to cover for Harris. Big risk for the selectors, Ryan Harris has never made it through 3 consecutive test matches before and with a quick turn around from Old Trafford they are doing everything possible to get him through.

If he is fine expect unchanged line up.

He only really had to bowl for one innings last test, if he can't play this test why do we bother with him?

Harris will play IMO, but what do we do with Lyon? Bird in for Lyon and have Smith, Warner and Clarke do the spin bowling?

No. Leave the spinner as is. Why must we change the bloody team for every game

He is a bowler so he needs to pick up wickets unlike in the last test.

So throw him on the scrap heap after 1 test? Should have been playing from the First Test.

Agar has shown little bowling wise so we really don't have many other options.

Last 5 tests

1/95; 0/8 In England
7/94; 2/71 In India
1/124; 1/27 In India
3/215; 1/29
1/69; 1/66

Totally agree he should have played from the first test instead of Agar but he needs wickets and fast IMO. Thats why I suggested an extra pacemen instead of a spinner

Dont play a spinner for the sake of it.
We havnt got any decent ones so why bother
Id rather see the 4 quicks go at them

Yes he is quality, i did'nt say he was'nt. Just saying if he can't back up from bowling in one innings of the 3rd test we shouldnt bother with him. There was a big break between the 2nd and 3rd test so that shouldnt come into it.
If he is ever going to play back to back tests this is the chance

I actually thought Lyon bowled really well last test despite not picking up the wickets.. are people forgetting cricket is about partnerships - is it so bad if Lyon is tying down an end while someone cleans up at the other?!

Plus Lyon can push through the overs quicker than having an extra seamer.

Give the bloke a chance FFS! Dropping him every other test (like Hughes/Khawaja) isn't going to do him any good.

Watto, Smith and Clarke can bowl a few
Lyon is rubbish, why persist with him

Agree Lyon has been bowling very well, all spinners get carted by India in India including Warne. Stick with Lyon, he's our best spinner since Hauritz.

I've taken Flemmos advice about not many games being completed there.
Whacked a 50 on the draw at $3.35.
Potential return of $167.50.
