England Vs Australia Third Test

Postby the joker » Tue Jul 30, 2013 9:46 pm

Steve Smith failed to train today and is in doubt with a sore back.
If Smith plays I wonder if Hughes will be the player to make way for the inclusion of Warner

We don't have one spinner that looks dangerous what makes them think our second choice will have more luck.

Our ability to knuckle down at the top of the order and not play loose shots is what has cost us more often than not. The solution to this... bring in a T20 specialist. Australian cricket is ******!

Yep and Watsons just doing wonders there. At least Warner has shown he can convert a start to a hundred.

What's to say Warner will get included? Because he smacked a 100 on a postage stamp oval?

Agreed it was against minnows and on a postage stamp but the facts are at least Warner can be dangerous and take the game away from England in a session. I'm sure England would much rather see Warner not play than play.

Don't get me wrong, Bird can bowl, but the left arm option gives us some variety, rather than having 3 right armers + Watson coming from the same angle all day.

That's fair, i was just curious. Personally I prefer Bird - I think he bowls tighter lines and would much rather an attack that will tie them down and force the error than to pick a bloke who may snag a couple of wickets but go at 4 an over.

 I've been patiently waiting by the phone all day, but apparently CA are looking for a more unknown* spinner from left field who cant turn it, flight it or be attacking but can bat a bit and is prepared to bowl around the wicket darts and bowl in a negative manner

*more unknown :? does that even make sense?

Meanwhile Australia A are 5/95
Finch 0
S Marsh 13
Doolan 0
Maxwell 0
Paine 2
Maddinson 39*
M Marsh 0*

At least we know if anyone in the test team gets injured there are capable replacements.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.
