I wonder if Watson will make himself available to bowl, it would go a long way to determine the make-up of the side.

Warner
Watson
Hughes
Clarke
Bailey
Wade
Maxwell
Faulkner
Starc
Coulter-Nile
McKay

This is how I'd expect them to line up, would be better to have more batsmen that could bowl but I couldn't see Bailey missing out seeing that he is vice captain.

He bowled in the IPL, would be disgrace if he didn't bowl for Australia.

I'd say they'd go with that 11 if that's the case, thanks Squids.

Middle order was Hughes, Bailey, Voges and Marsh in warm up match against Windies with Clarke having a rest.

Voges, Hughes or Marsh to miss out when comp starts?

I'd leave out Hughes, the other 2 can bowl and are better fielders

I'm old enough to remember when we were good at cricket.

How can Lyon not play (or even in the squad??) for ODI team......classic example when India were 5 fa that a spinner was needed after the new ball stopped swinging to break the partnership. Some decisions of this selection committee really puzzle me, they only play 4 specialist batsmen Warner (form is terrible atm), Hughes (I don't know why but will end up being our highest run scorer in the ashes?), Voges (ok but 32), Bailey (not good enough & 31). Watson, Marsh and Faulkner being used as all-rounders......can't play all three??

Champions Trophy was a classic chance to expose some the next generation of international cricketers to English conditions..........Ferguson, Burns, Maddison, Silk, Paine? Also realistically the Australian Cricketing public don't expect to win this trophy again but at least by blooding some young talent at international level they can see a plan for the future and possibly unearth a talent that will rise to the international stage?

I hope I'm wrong but I can see a quick exit coming from this champions trophy which is disappointing for a cricketing national that prides itself on the standard of it's first class cricket.

Who cares? Who needs Lyon getting belted around these small English grounds with the Ashes approaching? I reckon Lyon will get more runs in the Ashes than Huges ha ha.
