4th Indian win - Delhi - 22-26 March

Indian debutant / centurian Dhawan has been ruled out of the 4th Test with a broken left hand, suffered when fielding on day 4 of the Test in Mohali.

Gambhir had been called into the squad but has been ruled out with, of all things, jaundice. Suresh Raina has subsequently been brought in as the replacement.

With Starc and most likely Clarke out of the Australian side, both teams go into the final Test of the series with at least 1 change, perhaps more.

With the Delhi pitch described as "ready to spin like a top" Australia will most likely gift Xavier Doherty another Test cap, well, we have to, we dont have anyone else as REB and I wouldn't get there in time. ;)

I reckon Steady Eddy could spin the ball more than our spinners.

Who was the last spinner that did well in India?
Even Warney averaged 43 over there. (He did cop Tendulkar at his best tho)

The 12 on debut sounds good, the 358 he leaked to get them was not so great.

Swann and Panesar destroyed India.
Our current crop can hardly be called spinners, slow bowlers at best

Yep bring back former greats (Emburey, Gatting, Gooch) really helped England in teh 90s.

Ponting, warne, hussey etc are gone baby, no point looking back we got to move forward.

We need to do what we did in the mids 80s identify five or six solid characters (tough nuts) who will be given time to develop (Clarke, Cowan, Wade (even though i think Paine is better) Siddle, Starc) theya re your core and build a side around them as we did with Border, McDermott, S Waugh, Boon and G Marsh.

The formula worked with us in the past, England did it mid 00s and they're reaping the rewards now.

I know everyone giggled a bit when he was sent over there, but Ashton Agar has taken 12 wickets since returning to Aus, and can hold a bat.
Surely a better second spinner than Doherty!
