Just killing time on the commute to work, and was wondering how many bowlers with international experience would not get a gig in their best XI bowling attack at the moment. Just to make it simple I've selected a 3 pace 1 spin bowler combination or each state (Allrouders exc.)

NSW best attack: cummins, starc, Hazlewood & okeefe

Missing: bollinger, copeland

SA best attack: putland, Richardson, Sayers & Lyon

Missing: George

Tas best attack: hilfenhaus, bird, butterworth & Doherty

Missing: laughlin, krezja

Qld best attack: Harris, cutting, McDermott & Boyce

Missing: hauritz

Vic best attack: Siddle, pattinson, Hastings & holland

Missing: McKay (would swap for Hastings or holland in one day match)

WA best attack: Coulter-Nile, Johnson, hogan & agar

Missing: beer

Cummins has only played 4 first class games and none since 2011. Sure he showed potential but until he can actually get on the park and earn a spot in any team i think all of the hype is a bit over the top.

Our pace bowling stocks are good. We just dont have the spin option to be successful in india at the moment.

Agreed. Bollinger in for Cummins IMO.

Apart from that it looks pretty good bays09.

Pretty handy 32 bowlers in that list, not including mennie, haberfield, Abbott, zampa, sandhu, rimmington, gannon, d pattinson, maher, herrick, Boland and Sheridan.

Those bowling stocks are good but not good enough to cover the shit totals our 'batsmen' are going to score against anything better than mediocre opposition. Apart from Mitch Marsh not a lot coming through either.

Gannon for McDermott. Ahmed for Holland.

Other issue with this is our batsmen dont get to face quality spin in Australia, and hence the result in India at the moment where many of them are just guessing how much the ball will spin.

I don't rate Beer at all, but I wouldn't put Agar ahead of him just yet. :D
