I presume Sangakkara and the other Jayawardene won't play so there's a massive hole in the batting and keeping already. Aussies should win this pretty easily.

Especially when he was not part of the Aussie A tour of England this year

Hope you are right, the ACB thread on facebook has had 1500 hits and replies, obviously most from Vic's who support the move.

Surely Khawaja comes in at 4, hell Watson only bowled 3 overs this test

I love him in t20 form but his nothing more than a cross bat slapper who bowls very part time spin, Warner and Clarke would bowl ahead of him and he wouldn't be in our top 20 best first class batters.

Very strange selection

I totally agree with that assesment WHUFC.
With that selection Maxwell can pack his bags for India. It was the only position up for grabs and has now been filled

Fantastic limited overs cricketer, great to watch
One of the best hitters going around
But Test Cricket ?
Rob Quiney has to be distraught with this selection

I remember the time when you had to earn a baggy green. They're just giving them away now.

Khawaja to come in and bat at 4. Surely. I know we are looking for that allrounder spinner option for india, but we just dont have it at the moment. Maxwell is not the answer.

As it was said above, Watto bowled 3 overs. Clarke needs to get fit and bowl a few with Lyon.

Clarke has said he will bat himself at four if he plays. Maxwell at seven, Wade at six

Wow what a weird selection, it's obviously with an eye to India but I would still have thought there was a few better finger spinners around than Maxwell

Ffs Dave Hussey would do a better job
