As good as Ponting has been his regular games for Australia over the past two years has held up Australia's progress.
Thank god he is gone.
Or should it be credited to the new head selectors.
Sanity finally.

The same buffoons who didnt pick a leftie in Adelaide for some variation but then chose 2 in Perth aswell as a guy bowling pies at a spinners pace?
The selectors should be sacked immediately

Yeah heard that.

It's not the stupidest option I have heard, would solve the Watson problem but Henriques could bat six at highest so you then have Henriques at six, Wade at seven and Hussey will need to be replaced within a couple of summers. That's to much for mine.

Personally I would like to see Joe Burns, his not in the greatest of form but the Sri Lankan is probably not much better than his facing in shield cricket.

As Chappell said yesterday We need to get someone young in, if we don't do that soon we are going to have a very high turnover of captains in a short period of time.

The top 4 are struggling, Clarke is the captain and best bat in the side by a mile, he needs to put his personal preferences aside and do what's best for his side and move up to 4 at very least

For Hobart I would go

1. Cowan
2. Watson (want a left/right combo)
3. Warner
4. Clarke
5. Burns
6. Hussey
7. Wade
8. Siddle
9. Starc
10. Johnson/Hilfenhaus
11. Lyon

Lets not forget South Africa were 6 for stuff all and only made 200 odd.
As usual when there is a chance to to build a first innings lead the same bloke fails again when your number 4 should be trusted to knuckle down and rebuild and get big runs.
Things can only get better surely.
Retire in peace Punter.
Adios.

Didnt mean Siddle although a half fit Siddle would be better than Hastings.
Terrible selection blunder to play a guy with the pace of an under 14.
