The fast bowler James Pattinson will not be part of the Australia A tour of England due to an abdominal strain.

The Western Australia fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile is set to join the Australia A squad, which had already gained Alister McDermott after he was brought in to replace in the injured Pat Cummins, who suffered a side strain.

This is just getting out of hand now

Ben Cutting, the Queensland fast bowler, has become the third paceman to withdraw from Australia A's tour of England due to injury, flying home following the conclusion of the tourists' opening match against Derbyshire.

Cutting, 25, had not been selected in the XI for the match, and was diagnosed with a back problem that necessitated his return home.

At 0-99 chasing 224 with ample time, the Australian A side has self destructed, losing by 19 runs amid former Pommy international, 34-year old spinning all-rounder Ian Blackwell's career best 7-52.
0-56 at the close yesterday looked to have the Aus A side sitting pretty, and that was further improved to 0-99 before Ruel Braithwaite claimed two wickets in five balls, before Blackwell claimed the next seven to fall, in a span of 7-78 (really 9-79 if you include Braithwaite), that took just 20.4 overs.
Tim Paine 26* and Alistair McDermott 12 looked to try and snare a win regardless of the carnage, putting on 16 runs in five overs before Claydon struck to end the tourists match.

The uk first class scene has a disibility pension that if an injury ends your first class career you can get a payout, still allowed to play cricket but can not be seen to be making a living from playing cricket - second eleven cricketers are paid very little in the uk, think you will find he was attempting to cash in on this, but was knocked back, also think in that time he started officiating league cricket games up that way.
