Less than 24 hours after Phil Hughes' departure, fellow Test aspirants Usman Khawaja and Nathan Hauritz have left NSW and signed with Queensland for the next two seasons.
Hauritz - who last played Test cricket in 2010 - will start pre-season training with the Bulls next week while Khawaja is currently playing for Derbyshire in England and is expected to link with Queensland in September.

Brett Lee has declined a contract with New South Wales, declaring he wants to leave room on the state's list for a younger player while he aims for an upgrade to a Cricket Australia deal. Lee was not among the 17 men handed national contracts last week, the first time since 1999 that he has failed to win a central contract.

Steve Magoffin, the Queensland fast bowler, will finish his career in England after retiring from Australian first-class cricket and signing a near two-year deal with Sussex.

That is pretty generous of him isn't it? Shouldn't really have to come to that though, from a CA point of view, surely. Well done to Brett Lee but perhaps CA have got this whole contract thing wrong?

Triffit to WA. He obviously realised Mr. overrated Tim Paine will get the number one mantle.

Bit harsh on Paine. He's been struggling with injury for a while.

Queensland now picked up three decent players. Are they going to have many locals in their team?
Harris
Pommersbch
Kawajaha
Forrest
Hautirz (although I think he is a Queenslander)
Not to mention Boof the coach

But unlike the redbacks the recycled Bulls can actually play cricket at First Class level

Can't imagine Pommersbch would be on a great deal of cash. Think he would have taken any chance of a contract can't imagine WA would have offered him one.
