A promising young English cricketer, aged 23, Tom Maynard has died after being hit by a underground train early Monday morning (uk time).

Sad times for Surrey and the English cricketing family. RIP

Could be more to the story here if my English sources are correct.

It is alleged that Tom had been spoken to by police in the hours leading up to his death. Also his car was found dumped near the train station.

Did he represent England at all?

The name sounds familiar, perhaps was there a Maynard that played for them a few years back that is a relative of his?

No but was earmarked as potential. You are probably thinking of his father who played for Glamorgan.

He started there but left due to what he perceived as poor treatment of his father in a role at the club.
