According to Adam Crosthwaite:

Cummins always going2have issues cos of his body position at the point of release at his speed. Not management,it's technique.

So if that is true, then blaming short forms of the game is barking up the wrong tree.

If he can't last 4 overs per match how is going to last the 5 day version?

Comparing him to Bruce Reid and Shane Bond is a bit much. He's got a long way to go to rival their records. He has talent but it hasn't been seen whereas at least Reid and Bond showed what they had at the highest level (albeit all too briefly). Cummins has time on his side though but needs to get that train wreck of an action right first.

Not sure Cummins can become a top order batsman who can bowl part time.

This. He's all over the place when he's running in to bowl and when he gathers himself as he hits the crease just before the point of release. Looks like an Octopus, arms and legs are all over the place.

Article from cricinfo-
"Pat Cummins has revealed he was booked into the Australian Institute of Sport to have his bowling action examined for signs that it had contributed to his injury-ridden year before the back stress fracture that has blocked him out of a second home summer in a row."

He could do worse than seek out Dennis Lillee for some advice/guidance.
