Looks like no Steve Smith then, which is good.

Botha could be handy if he plays a full season with us.

Yeah why would we need a batter that averages high 40's at shield level and is one of the best fielders in the country!!

Are you sure you dont work for the SACA

Agreed whufc- why would we knock him back? I've been critical of Smith getting an Aus gig but his past season or 2 in the shield comp have been very good!

Throw in the fact Smith would be playing to try and earn back a national selection while on the other hand Botha will more than likely use us as an easy way to increase his retirement fund.

Have absolutely no affiliation with the SACA.

I actually rate Smith as a batter and agree is a fine fielder. Just don't let him bowl.

Probably was a stupid comment I made earlier

LOL at his bowling its terrible isnt it. Would love to see him and Cameron White have one of those bowl offs they use to use to decide T20 games. It would be a bloody marathon to hit the stumps first.

Botha has certain benefits, certainly solid in the T20 game and a contributor in ODD cricket.

Not a FC cricketer's arsehole, which is where we want to be successful at.
Mind you, the way in which our FC team is at, he'd hold his own, improving on O'Brien's slot.

But let's get an effing superstar FC cricketer, rather than an average player, please.

If SACA wanted to recruit him I would have no dramas with that but he must not bowl at all under any circumstances wearing the Red Cap.....

Undecided on Botha, but he does average both 30 odd with the bat and ball in First Class Cricket, which is better than most of the current Redbacks can offer at the moment.

Would take Smith 365 days a year ( so Botha for one day every four years)
He has SO much to prove and would be busting his guts to be playing for Australia
