Next Big Thing...

Apologies if this thread has already been made, by the way.
Not players bourne of potential as opposed to actual results, but who's coming up, who should we keep an eye on, and who is going to be in our Test team in five years time?
Players like Pattinson or Cummins should be excluded, as they appear to have made that jump already, this is players who are not there yet, but shouldn't be considered far away from becoming bona fide Test cricketers.
I'll start off with the man of the hour, Nathan Couter-Nile.
51 First Class wickets in 11 matches, and 23 wickets in 12 ODD matches, coupled with a fairly handy half hundred in today's ODD match.
One to watch...

Yep, I'm a big wrap for the Big Unit, Coulter-Nile. Hits the deck hard and bowls good areas. Would be unplayable and downright scarey if the WACA was like it used to be.

Also bit of a fan of Behrendorf too - has a bit of Phil Alley about him, just with talent..
Maddinson looks the pick of the young bats for mine, and obviously Handscomb has made a fairly solid start to his first class career. Chris Lynn has potential but needs to be more consistent, and if Tommy Cooper can back up again next season with the form he showed this year, you'd have to think he'd be pressing for selection in one of the sides in the shorter format. He has been outstanding this year.
Tommy Triffitt is the pick of the young keepers IMO.

Another West Aussie, Liam Davis, might also be knocking on the door following that triple ton last weekend.
Obviously you need more than one big innings to prove your worth for Test cricket but one thing a massive dig like that shows is that you have a good temperament - an important factor at the elite level.

Agree with that West Oz, that is why I may have dropped Alistair McDermott's name a bit too quickly.

Got plenty of talent amongst the young quicks.
Coulter-Nile, Behrendorff, Herrick, Lalor, Hazelwood, Mc Dermott as just a few.
Still got Cutting who is yet to debut and is taking plenty of wickets not to mention how well his batting has come on, unbeaten 80 and 50 in last shield match in Hobart.
Peter Nevill is my pick of the young talent, averaging over 50 with the bat in an ordinary side and the best glovesman in the country. Will have to bide his time though as it appears Wade has been annoited as keeper, very hard to break into the side being a keeper

Good call on Nevill Jim, although we'll have to beg to differ on glovework quality between him & Triffitt.

But with the way that keepers are picked as all-rounders these days, Nevill definitely is the better overall 'package'.

Is Triffitt injured at the moment?
Brady Jones is the keeper for the one day final.

Hard to find any info, so had to resort to his Twitter feed.

Broke his thumb by all reports and is due to start training again today, which was earlier than expected.

Definitely reckon Liam Davis can play,he's got a bit of Bruce Laird about him. Joe Burns from Qld shows a fair bit of promise, a bit stand and deliver at this stage, but could be a damaging middle order bat in the future as he develops
