Andrew Symonds retires

Andrew "Roy" Symonds has retired from all forms of professional cricket (did so yesterday).
Was supposed to play in this year's IPL, but has pulled out* because of the upcoming birth of his first kid.

I'm sure most people will remember him for Cardiff, THAT fishing trip, or for flattening the streaker that time, but here was one very well rounded (ability-wise) cricketer that has given me many memories in the game...

Thanks Roy!!

Retired? More like hasn't been in the public spotlight for a while so had to get back in there, I wasn't a big fan.

He produced some big hits over the years, none bigger then the shoulder on that streaker. Gold.

He was a very, very talented cricketer who played quality cricket in all forms of the game. Not sure if he was a wasted talent or if he lived up to his ability. IMO, he had more to offer than he delivered for Australia, and he delivered quite a bit.

Dumbest bloke ever to pick up a cricket bat. But shit he could hit a ball, very enjoyable to watch in full flight.

I'll never forget his breakthrough innings in that World Cup match in South Africa.
Australia in deep, deep trouble, his career in strife and he whacked the Pakis all over the park with tail end support.
Wonderful innings.

Not if you've ever heard what sort of stuff Roy got up to. Makes Warnie a look like Einstein.
