Interesting comments by Gambhir, noting the XI that played Sunday are the best XI to deliver against Australia.

SACHIN Tendulkar should not be allowed to pursue his dream of scoring his 100th century on this tour, according to outspoken opener Gautam Gambhir

In comments sure to splinter the Indian dressing room, Gambhir said the tourists needed players who could "deliver''.

Tendulkar has not scored a century in his 11 innings on this Australian tour and was rested before Sunday's game against Australia, which the tourists won.

"For me, this was the best playing 11,'' Gambhir said before pointedly adding "it's not about names''.

"You don't want names, you want people who can deliver,'' Ghambir, who was named man-of-the-match after top scoring with 92, said.

"The best XI is if 11 players have the belief they can beat any opposition on the park and this playing XI had the belief that they could beat Australia in Australia and in this ODI.

"One or two individuals don't make a difference.''

And Gambhirs tour has been out standing hey

Sachin has delivered time after time year after year Gambhir makes a 90 and talks it up.

This reminds of the bashing Ponting took earlier in the year and look how he stood up. For me the modern day "GREATS" are Sachin, Ponting and Lara.

Many others deserve a mention but for me them 3 are the stand out and to have 5min man Gambhir dripple this tripe is not worth listening to.

And if you read all of the article he has a crack at Dhoni. Is he looking to get traded at the end of the year :)

I completely agree with Gambhir's thoughts but whether he should say them or not is another issue all together.

Nothing wrong with what he said, but that stays in the changerooms surely.

Actually i would have thought it would stay in his head.
I'd be more worried about poking at balls chest high outside off stump if i was him!

Not many, if any.
