For the time being, Test crowds are good in Australia

We are still one of the leading nations when it comes to Test cricket crowds. Though I do not have the figures to look at, one would suggest England is the only other nation who can get a ground to at least half to three quarters full.

This is the total attendances for each venue this season, compared to the past four corresponding matches:

Aust vs NZ at Gabba
2001/02 - 36752 over five days
2004/05 - 52082 over four days
2008/09 - 38753 over four days
2011/12 - 40670 over four days

Aust vs NZ at Bellerive
1993/94 - 13220 over four days
1997/98 - 12396 over five days
2001/02 - 16471 over five days
2011/12 - 16525 over three days (I can't find the fourth day attendance)

1. Tuesday start
2. 37 degrees
3. Dead rubber

I wonder how accurate the figures are, didnt appear to be that big of crowd. Looked to be around 15-16,000 which is still great but appeared plenty of empty seats and plenty of room on the grass

Don't forget that the members does hide a few out the back.


My old man said the members stand was packed when play started.

Thats me ;) tray of beers. watch the first session with the lads, then down the back to talk shite, have a scout and enjoy the festivities..... occasionally looking at the big screen and celebrating milestones (20 beers deep and like you watched the whole innings :lol: )

Over 100k attended the Adelaide Test match, great numbers yet again
