I think Johnson would have to bowl really well when he comes back but he is definetly loved by the selectors. Well the old selection panel anyway?
At his best he could be a Botham like all-rounder, but finding his best will be down to how hungry he is to get back.

But in 12 months, with Starc a year more developed and Johnson a year older, you'd hope Starc would be a better alternative.
Off topic, but shows how ridiculous not having Shield games at the moment is, would have been ideal for Starc to go back and play a four dayer.

For Australia to be a force again the side needs NO MITCHELL JOHNSON. You can't have a bowler come on and release the pressure nearly every time he bowls. At one stage in the republic he was shuffling in like a medium pacer. No rhythm at all. Hasn't been injury free for a year? Hasn't bowled well for many years. A ridculously overrated cricketer.

has not bowled well for several years? 12 months ago bowled one of the best spells seen in australia.
And his one day form before injury was exceptional. 39 wickets at 20 with only two bowlers in the world taking more.
People on here will look stupid when he leads the attack in the next ashes
