Will the revamped Big Bash to a city based comp instead of state based turn out to be a BIG BLUNDER ?
Not sure what size crowds NSW attracted in recent years but going on the look of tonights crowd between the sixers and the Heat it appears that it appears that the new concept may not have the support of the paying public as the crowd looks PATHETIC !!!
Any guesses as to what it would be ???
5000 ?

Huge ticket give aways have been going on for the Adelaide games too. I've been offered over 75 tickets already, and I don't really move in those "free ticket" circles normally!

Bad mistake to change.
There would be at least 15000 on sunday if the redbacks were playing.
Still going though. Just for the novelty factor.

Teeball is the big blunder. You can't polish a turd. Scrap this crap next season and put that money into developing the game in schools and putting money into the domestic scene instead of paying overseas players and retired veterans! That is where our much needed next generation of Haydens, Warnes, Gilhrists and Waughs are going to come through.
I reckon it's no surprise that we've gone down the gurgler at the same time that this shit has invaded our Cricket season. It was always going to be tough to replace the retiring champions but have a look at how many of these young blokes are getting injured these days. Teeball is the modern equivalent of the Rebel Tours in the 1980's when it comes to being a destabilisng influence on the fortunes of our national team.
Teeball can go and get ******, horrible shit that it is. Cricket Australia is ******. They've devauled the Baggy Green and the once great game of Cricket.

REB

Yeah but it's not Cricket. In fact, it has replaced it. There should be a test match on this weekend. Instead of the deciding test of the Kiwi series we get the Neddy No Names vs. Western Whatsit in a teeball slogathon. Turn it up.

I hope you have a good day mate but I hope not too many others do the same thing or we can all sit around and tell our grandkids about the late great sport of Test Cricket.

I must admit what interest I had in the BBL dissipated awhile ago which played a small part in the decision to disconnect the Foxtel.
I don't really care for the Strikers as opposed to the Redbacks and with Pollard being ruled out injured for the tournament I'm glad I did get rid of Fox.

What seems lost on most of you is that you aren't the target audience. CA is seeking new audiences with the BBL.
It will fund first class cricket so I hope it succeeds.

They were expecting 50 odd thousand tonight.
They got 23.

Disaster so far.

Everybody will be sick of the rubbish after the 1st week and it will be even more embarrassing for the powers to be.
If 23,000 is right, that would have to be a massive failure surely ?

You expected to not be a virgin at your age. Can't all be winners.

Will give it time, but it seems odd that they went away from a successful formula which was the state based comp.
Also remember last year there were no games prior to christmas when plenty is on.
I dare say the Melbourne and Sydney fans are more confused than us with 2 teams in their city.
