20 year Shield table analysis shows how bad SA are

Looking at Shield tables for the last 20 years shows just how poor we have been. No matter how you look at it, we are that far below other states it's not funny. It got me thinking, are there some areas that we are actually ok at or are we just terrible all round? In the coming weeks I'm going to go through stats and results and try and answer any questions I can think of and put the results up here. I'm not expecting this to be good reading though!
First up is looking at Shield tables and total points scored by each state, and where they finished on the ladder over time. In every way I thought to analyse it, we are a mile off the other states.
Next up is breaking it down into outright wins, losing outright but winning first innings, winning first innings in a draw, losing first innings in a draw, and losing outright.

Good job.
Gee thats pretty deflating isnt it?
Our system is obviously broken why are we not doing anything about it.
We look to have a good crop of kids coming through but im worried we will still be having this conversation in 10 years time.
Enough is Enough

You would obviously know more but it seems we are getting worse. Would have thought over 10 years there would have been a bit more fluctuation in ladder positions.
Interesting that WA hasnt collected the spoon in that time and Tassie which has 1/3 of our population has been around the mark. We seem to have stagnated.

I don't argue that the results are acceptable, but there is plenty being done.
There's a completely new coaching panel over the past 3 years, they have improved facilities, increased resources and many new players. Some have shown improvement at times, some haven't. Some players may have overstayed their welcome.
To claim that there is nothing being done is unfair on a lot of people.

Apologies to the many people who put in the hard yards but as a general fan it just appears that way.
Berry needs more time but i get pissed off when i hear Jamie Cox and his piss weak excuses. At least Berry speaks his mind

We had a limited amount of success in the 90's, but in the years that we were average during that period, I didn't mind so much, firstly because we weren't as bad as we have been in recent years, and secondly, because at least we had some entertaining player such as Lehmann, Siddons, Blewitt, Nobes, Hookes, Bishop, Phillips, May, and a few others.

There is one interesting stat
SA is the only state that has lost more games than they have drawn matches
From 1891/92 to 1927/28 SA finished in the top 3 every season ...

Many new players? Sure, but they couldn't get a game for their home state so they come here to underperform and milk our resources.
The list of hacks we have recruited and wasted money on over the last 5 years is simply too long to list.
