The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

I have no idea but he sure has a shocking bowling action. I also have no idea why two metre peter doesnt bowl in the ryobi - not like he should have to bat anyway.

Great to see Warner given a go at opening in the 4 day format. He seemed to be getting picked as a limited over specialist but with a bit of adjustment i think he can be a mainstay for the longer version.

Mentioned last year that i reckon he could one day open the bat for our test side and got laughed at. Far better technique than Hughes.
Maddinson is another who i thought should have been given a go by now

SA really need a spinner to step up while Lyon's gone. Bailey's just not doing it. Cullen's bowling flat. Would they look at Kulesza or Joraslafsky? Both are young and would be a commentator's nightmare but at least they take wickets.

Was thinking the exact same thing, he was pigeonholed as a t20 player early on but has taken every opportunity he has been given in the longer formats. He is an excellent fielder as well, I think he will soon be a permanent fixture in Australia's ODI team (probably fighting with Marsh and Smith for 2 spots).

Going alright at the moment and does have a good technique, but smashing around the Jelly back bowlers has never been a good indication of a national player. Its like playing Zimbarbwe.

I rate Warner and would love to see him open for Australia instead of Hughes.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all. All I am saying is that making runs against South Australia is a defining factor, its a start for him at shield level as an opener. I would like to see him open against WA or say Victoria as well before we can really make any judgements.

What about a double hundred for Australia A??? did that back in July and Khawaja scored a doughnut in the same game.....

If Hughes keeps strugling then Warner should be at the top of the list to replace him.
