Was thinking the exact same thing, he was pigeonholed as a t20 player early on but has taken every opportunity he has been given in the longer formats. He is an excellent fielder as well, I think he will soon be a permanent fixture in Australia's ODI team (probably fighting with Marsh and Smith for 2 spots).

Going alright at the moment and does have a good technique, but smashing around the Jelly back bowlers has never been a good indication of a national player. Its like playing Zimbarbwe.

I rate Warner and would love to see him open for Australia instead of Hughes.
