Zimbabwe's home season begins with Bangladesh's visit between July 1 and July 22. The two teams have been regular opponents in recent years, having played 18 ODIs against each other since January 2009, with Bangladesh winning 13 of those games. Zimbabwe will play a one-off Test match and four ODIs against them before Australia A arrive for a one-day tri-series also involving Zimbabwe and South Africa, and two four-day matches against the host. Match details are yet to be confirmed at this stage, but the tour will run from late June to late July.Cricket Australia's National Selection Panel has announced a provisional 24-man squad which will be trimmed in May.

Provisional Australia A squad: George Bailey, Michael Beer  , Luke Butterworth, Trent Copeland 8) , Nathan Coulter-Nile, Patrick Cummins, James Faulkner, Callum Ferguson, Aaron Finch, Peter George, Jon Holland, Phillip Hughes, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Nicolas Maddinson, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Stephen O'Keefe, Tim Paine, James Pattinson, Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade, David Warner

Zimbabwe have announced an extensive 32-man training squad ahead of engagements against Australian and South African A teams that will kick off a busy 2011-12 season. Sean Williams, the left-handed batsman and part-time spinner who was part of Zimbabwe's World Cup squad, is the only really notable absentee from the squad list, but it is the inclusion of Pakistan-born batsman Sikandar Raza that will raise interest on the local cricket scene.

Raza, 25, emigrated from Pakistan in 2002 as a 15-year-old and played his first games for Northerns at the tail end of the 2006-'07 season. He then moved to Scotland to study at Langside College, turning up briefly as Colne's professional in the Lancashire League and also getting a game for Weirs in the Scotland Cup. He returned to Zimbabwe with a Bachelor's degree in software engineering and quickly moved from the Southern Rocks B side to their first XI.

Training squad Sikander Raza, Regis Chakabva, Tendai Chatara, Chamu Chibhabha, Maxwell Chifamba, Elton Chigumbura, Mike Chinouya, Charles Coventry, Graeme Cremer, Terrence Duffin, Tochukwu Enwerem, Craig Ervine, Kyle Jarvis, Greg Lamb, Lovemore Manatsa, Hamilton Masakadza, Shingirai Masakadza, Tino Mawoyo, Keegan Meth, Chris Mpofu, Natsai Mushangwe, Forster Mutizwa, Njabulo Ncube, Ian Nicolson, Tinashe Panyangara, Ray Price, Ed Rainsford, Vusi Sibanda, Tatenda Taibu, Brendon Taylor, Prosper Utseya, Brian Vitori

Great work to the Aus A boys last night! 8/232, Nic Maddinson 63, Callum Ferguson 52, Timmy Paine 37.....

Zimbabwe weren't going too badly at 1-94.....but then lost 9-48! Nathan Lyon 4-22, Hastings 3-22, Mitch Starc 2-26

Handy representation by a couple of redbacks there.

Is Lyon the nation's best spinner at the moment? I know this is just Zimbabwe but he seems to relish every challenge his is presented with.

"Brewery" Lyon is the best spinner in the country- but nowhere near the best 30 cricketers in the country.

Interesting statement. Surely he has to be somewhere near?

Good to see the south Aussies doing well. Fergy two half centuries in three innings and Lyon 8 wickets in three matches and has over taken o'keefe as the number 1 spinner in the A team. I heard someone say that fergy is earmarked as the replacement to huss in both ODI and the test format when he retires.

If you were to just pick the best 30 you'd probably end up with 26 batsmen, it's a bit of an invalid argument.

AUS A beat SAFFA A

Hughes and Warner both hit hundreds.

Mitchell Marsh 4-for, and Nathan Lyon three wickets (and man of the series).
