Chatting with a member of the Bayswater-Morley Cricket Club in Perth, apparently, thier captain... a recently axed test batsmen, former waca captain and current team member is becoming a little dispondent in the west and is looking for a change... preferably into a red cap... does have a few former team mates over here, wouldnt be a ridiculous move.

my thoughts exactly! at the end of the day he is a quality bat... we continually gripe about picking up recycled players, but at the end of the day, we obviously arent picking the right ones as tasmanias foriegn brigade played a massive part in stearing them to the sheffield shield this season

North would be a good get for the Redbacks. Would thrive on the Adelaide Oval.

He couldn't make runs for AUS.

IIRC he made runs AGAINST the SOZZIES in the Shield...

If he plays for us, he won't be able to face us...

LOL but he will get the chance to play half the games in a season on a nice flat batter friendly deck, and i think he still has plenty to offer.

Since when did north become a former waca captain? Isn't he the current captain at the moment

The Australian A team wouldn't even have him.

I reckon he's an "in the middle" player. He definitely has the talent to be successful at first class level but struggles on the big stage, he's not alone though.

And if not at least he'll look good in the nets

IMHO (and I know bugger all about our state scene these days) .. A limited number of recruits will always be available in between seasons, but it's still going to be homegrown boys that make up the greater numbers in the side, and thus it is that group that will make or break a team.

(Im not in anyway suggesting we should overlook North should he be available btw)
