Another Indian-based scandal is unfolding, with 2010 Champions League teams (including the Redbacks) not yet receiving their payments and prizemoney (payments are coordinated by the BCCI).

Another one for the BCCI shame file.

They can pick the cheque up at the 2011 edition.

did NSW & VIC get paid for theirs the year before that (because i remember it hadn't happened for a while) ?

i'd think most cricketers would be happy to compete at a 'higher level' to test their ability against others anyway, but all undertakings should be kept

Yes I think they both got paid about 6-9 months after the event.

I think NSW (who won the first comp in 2009) got paid just before the 2010 comp started!

Not just the Aussie teams

The Warriors and the Lions, the two South African franchises who competed in last year's Champions League Twenty20, have confirmed they have not received their prize money from the tournament. The amount, totalling US$ 1.5 million for both franchises, was due to be paid out on the last day of January.

I'm not sure about all this other than to say that if you are foolish enough to do business with Indian corporations you will only ever come away disappointed. They simply dont care and I believe they are essentially corrupt.

20/20 is simply carp in REB's opinion, and it doesn't warrant a mention.

teeball...where you just hit it and bowlers don't matter. Although lovers of this format would probably point out that Berry's intervention has made my label obsolete.

BTW. Post counts don't mean squat. It just means I'm an old opinionated bastard. 8)

With a good internet connection and a lot of time.....

But a disgrace that money hasn't gone through. Should have been all sorted within a week of the tournament ending. Probably the greatest indictment on the BCCI is nobody is terribly surprised. And I also wouldn't be surprised if the Indian teams got their money without delay or fuss.

If you wanted a new car you wouldn't be able to drive it out of the showroom until you paid for it. You couldn't get out of Woolies with a trolley full of goodies until you paid for it. You won't even get out of a dentist or doctors surgery until money or kind changes hands. Why would you play some dodgy version of the beautifl game in India for nothing - just on the word of some greasy spiv who says the cheque is in the mail. Teams should insist on payment up front then let the IPL wankers try and run the circus without any teams.

Unless it was a cheap, tacky version of a classic model that the great unwashed could purchase on hire purchase without really understanding or caring about the stately lines of the original.

But what if the cheap, tacky version was the highest selling model and the only one that made money, meaning without it no cars of any kind would be made? ;)

Pure speculation mate. Five-day tests will always exist as the pure form of cricket. Meanwhile, back in the Mumbai slums charlatans are busy inventing a new round of excuses as to why thay can't pay their bills overseas
