Wild thing....I pulled a heart string

Well, another blistering 8 overs in 4 days for Taity has seen him pull up a "bit sore" and not be fit enough to play in yesterdays One-dayer in Melbourne. Oh, those two T20's had very few 150kmph "thunderbolts" and yielded 1/40 off 4 and 1/39 off 4. Poor chap, being over worked like that.
I'm sure I heard him say he had had a big "couple of months getting fit before Christmas...." Must be the same fitness advisor Cossie used.
Why oh why does he get picked to represent our country on any occasion? The selectors have me puzzled, to say the least.

I understand where you're coming from, but I enjoy seeing him bowl when he's up and about. Very rare these days, but stranger things have happened!
What I can't understand is Haddin having a sook about being left out of the two 20/20 matches. They were absolutely pointless anyway, apart form raising money to go towards the floods.

Simple answer re Haddin. It was around the time the IPL were doing there player auction and he was worried that if he was not in the Aussie squad then he would not fetch much at the auction. It was all about lining his pocket.

Sorry Boney but that is the worst post I've seen from you. With a world cup around the corner and a lengthy lay-off I'd rather see him playing when he's 100%. Sure he's only bowled 8 overs in official matches but what about in the nets, he may have had a heavy workload there.
As for his two returns in the T20 matches, having dropped catches (especially first ball of an innings) absolutely spanks your mental approach to the game. I wonder what he would've produced if he had of taken a wicket on the first ball. We were playing the reigning T20 world champs aswell.
Taity is a lynch-pin for us winning the world cup IMO, ease him into it if necessary, cricket is a confidence game and he's the most dangerous bowler in the world when his confidence is up.
If he can produce that "killer" ball once every 15 balls in a game we will win most times, with the 75 balls he bowls in a ODI, that should give him 5 right on the money each game.
All inidividual opinions but I think you were being a bit harsh.

Perhaps you have missed some of my better work...
Seriously though, James Hopes isn't in the squad, Dirk Nannes has never had a look in, Hodge opened his mouth so he's out of the equation but I am puzzled as to why Tait is a walk up starter when not only is he fragile but more importantly not overly effective IMO.
You hit it on the head with "If he can produce that "killer" ball..". I dont think he can anymore.

Hopes has dropped off my radar, the other two I'd be seriously looking at though if we want our "best XI".

I don't see much from Tait to suggest too many killer balls these days. Unless you're a wicketkeeper.
There have long been question marks over his ability to bowl 25 overs in a day, then people wondered about bowling 10 overs in a one dayer. Now it seems 2 overs in a row sees him nearly spent. He isn't actually that much quicker than guys like Lee, Nannes, Bollinger and Johnson these days either. When he first came along he was head and shoulders the fastest thing we had, and did have an ability to blow through a batsman's defenses. Without that (and we must all surely wonder if it's gone for good) he is in serious trouble as an international cricketer.

And how effective is he going to be on sub-continent wickets?

Perhaps even less effective than he was in the IPL which could explain why he's been forced to take a pay cut.
Things aren't starting to look too good for Tait. He pulled himself out of the fire a bit in that one-day series in England last year and after an ordinary return from injury this time around both in the T20's with the Redbacks & Australia he really needs to do something in this one-day series if he gets picked of course.

OK, I can't hold back any more.
Booney, best post of the year so far ... absolutely spot on.
Tait, go play in the IPL for a couple a months a year then count your money.
You are a sook, are weak as piss and have no heart.
The Redbacks and the Aussies don't need you.
End of rant.
Ahhhhh, I feel better now.

Wasn't it about 2 or 3 years ago he worked with a coach to alter something in his bowling action to make it easier on his body? That change could have done more harm than good.

Changing his action won't do anything ... once the heart muscle is gone it's all over.

Seeing the topic title I would've thought one of REB's songs would've been in here by now.

Might have also been to make sure he was always bowling legal deliveries. Had a few issues with his bouncers a while back.

About time to see an honest assesment
