well i walked over there to have lunch & then watch the cricket as someone had posted it started at 3pm, anyway lunch was nice & the cricket scores were

from the action i witnessed the cricket in general was of a pretty high standard, the main difference between the girls & the fellas is the strength in the batting, one sa girl said after the game that its better than going to school so young talent is coming through, i liked the look of no 28 for nsw i think her name read parkin

New South Wales have secured an exciting 14-run win over South Australia in their women's national Twenty20 clash at Gliderol Stadium in Adelaide.

Having made a formidable total of 8-120 from their allotted overs, the Breakers withstood a spirited late charge from Scorpions pair Alicia Dean and Angela Moritz to come away with the points.

Earlier, NSW was well-served by opener Claire Koski and captain Sarah Aley, who played innings of contrasting natures.

Koski provided the backbone to the Breakers innings with a patient 27 off 47 deliveries, featuring a lone boundary.

Aley, on the other hand, was a skipper on a mission, smashing two boundaries and a striking six during an explosive nine-ball 20.

The pair shared a 28-run stand, NSW’s biggest, and provided a platform built upon by middle-order batters Hannah Trollip (15) and Kara Sutherland (15 not out).

Three South Australian bowlers – Cara Fiebig (2-17), Karen Rolton (2-21) and Neisha Iles (2-23) were among the wicket-takers.

The Scorpions reply suffered an early blow when Rolton fell for two, but Julie Woerner and captain Lauren Ebsary ensured the damage was limited, putting on an impressive 52-run stand.

Ebsary (32 off 33) fell at 68, but it was the wicket of Woerner, bowled by Alison Parkin for 33, which triggered a collapse.

South Australia slumped from 2-75 to 6-80 before Dean and Moritz provided a late rally with an unbroken 26-run stand from just 19 balls, but it proved in vain as the Breakers held on.

Leg-spinner Angela Reakes (2-7) and Parkin (2-20) were NSW’s best bowlers.

I think if I was Hanna, especially as a young lass, a name change might be in order.
