The 3-2-1 votes might be misleading, and I have used as a guide
I reckon COOK would win it at this stage, depending on how the voting system is
TROTT with another big innings will be in contention
HUSSEY is a show if AU wins the last test perhaps

I don't think they'd use a points system, it would come down to who has contributed the most for the series and would heavily be influenced by the team success.
Cook for mine atm. Strauss and Trott would be hot on his heels along with Hussey if he can ton up at the SCG.

If they had the Sidchrome Supertest team still mine would look like this atm.

Cook or Hussey are the shoe-ins at the moment, but Trott, Johnson, or KP at a stretch could come in to consideration with a big fifth Test- but Cook and Hussey would both need to fail.

More likely Cook will get it.

Anderson has been the difference between the two teams IMHO, has either taken wickets or created the pressure that's allowed them to fall at the other end.

Cook, Hussey, Anderson by a mile, with Strauss and Trott next in line. Trott was good in Adelaide and Melbourne, but how much value can you put on his runs in Brisbane compared to Strauss and Cook's innings' after they were the ones who had hard yards to get the Poms out of trouble,? Would be different if Strauss was out that first ball and Trott then scored his ton.

James Anderson has been the M.O.T.S in my opinion, think he has been the difference, tearing into the aussie top order.

Both tests ENG won, they bowled 1st, the damage was done, the pitches appeared easier for batting in the 2nd and 3rd days as well.

Probably a bit late for this call, but I think the Captain is now a shoe in.

I find it interesting that posters have selected Haddin over Prior. Remember we are picking a wicket keeper who can bat, yes haddin has made runs, but at times I have found his keeping very ordinary and in the first 3 tests he missed a key chance, that potentially could have impacted on the series result. Yes, I know they didn't, but the keepers first job is to take every chance offered. Not sure on this, but I think Prior has only missed a stumping in the last test match, and that was Clarke so at the moment it was only a matter of time.

If I was a selector, Haddin out, Paine in - look to the future.

And if they pick a good enough top 6, then it becomes more about his wicketkeeping, and less about his (acceptable) batting contributions...

Ive used a 3-2-1 voting system for the first 4 Tests for both teams to try and find the MOM
Jimmy Anderson has bowled consitently well in this series
However in the 4 Tests, other players would have polled better
Just the way it works out

COOK and HUSSEY are well ahead of ANDERSON in this series
COOKs ton in the 5thTest has it line ball with HUSSEY as to who is the winner [using 3-2-1]
However the sheer weight of series runs will win it for COOK
