I can't believe how much poo the commentators come out with, I'm always glad to hear Warnie on there. he's funny and he's still part of the modern day game and provides far more insight and valuable information than any of the others IMO.
Please let me know if I've forgotten anyone on the poll.

Have always enjoyed Bill Lawry in the commentary box, has tremendous passion for the game and can make dull matches somewhat exciting

Warne, Slater and Taylor.
Chappelli repeats himself countless times, Lawry is terrible and Grieg, well piss him off

Chappelli is probably the most insightful but his demeanour and general personality can be grating. I dont mind Bill as he adds a bit of color. Greig is a joke and has no relevance even when England is the opposition. Unfortunately he's Kerry Packer's lasting legacy to Australian cricket fans. Healy talks too much crap. Overall Slater is probably my favourite of the current lot.

I like most of them actually for varying reasons, however despise one A.G. Grieg, as far as the favourite, Michael Slater, knows what he is talking about and is straight to the point, adds a bit of colour to his commentary as well

I must say, I was never a big fan of Slat's, since his inclusion on the 9 commentary team I've grown to like him.
Did anyone catch Warne's comments about MacGill late on day one? He blurted out that MacGill quite often bowled a fair bit of poo.

I didnt vote for him but i think he is a pretty decent host and has an ability to make situations sound more exciting than they are.
I cant stand Chappelli, he is the most negative person on t.v and relates everything back to how he did it better when he was captain, i cant stand him. His still living in his era of cricket and cant understand why any of these new tactics have come into the game.
Warne is brilliant for his insight, he points things out and then they tend to happen the next over, its a shame he never got a chance to captain test match cricket, i understand why though.
I like Slater, he comes across as one of the lads someone the viewer at home can relate to, he was slightly reckless as a player and he understands when these things happing during a game and gives a good insight into decision making as a batter.
Taylor is great for his ball by bowl commentary and Tony Grieg well every team needs its villan and he plays that role as well as anyone.

Spot on SlipsQueen. Like the newer commentators except for Healy and the insufferable Nicholas. Surely we've heard enough of Bill, Tony and Chappelli droning on and on. Warne, Slats and Taylor never fail to provide a laugh and it's gold that whenever a batsman is in the nineties BANG there's Slats!

REB

I thought Richie and Warnie to be hilarious when in the commentary box together.

Ian Chappell is my favourite and I enjoy listening to his thoughts on the game. He's a hard man, always tells it as it is and speaks his mind about what's going on out in the middle. His storys about teams and players he played with and against are very interesting and gives a good insight to what it's like to wear the Baggy Green.
I also like Lawry, Taylor, Slater and having Warnie on there aswell is very good. All of them give good insights into the game of cricket and have different thoughts about whats going on.
As for Beaud and Greig, I really wish Channel 9 would get rid of them but because they love them so much, they'll die before they live the commentary box.

Warnie? the same Warnie who was quizzing all the other commentators about their jock size so he could offload some of his spinners undies? Yes, how insightful! At least he hit Hugh Jackman in the jatz crackers - now that was funny.
By the way - Tony Grieg is a XXL for anyone interested.

Yes, that Warnie, he has a great blend of humour and crkceting intellect and isn't afraid to voice his opinion on anyone.

Fully agree about Chappelli. As a cricket-lover, he is the one you just
have to listen to for his thoughts on the game. Just unfortunate he is not quite as articulate or succinct as some of the others.
Chappelli and Taylor are my two favourites, and it's no surprise they are also the best two Aussie captains in the past 50 years.
Slater and Nicholas are good for their presenting and all-round media skills IMO.
Healy is my least favourite.
Tony Greig has probably past his used-by date, but at least when he is commentating they often show attractive ladies in bikinis.

Kerry Packer has now passed on, surely chaneel 9 can now pension off those commentators from the Packer era? ... or did they sign on for life?

They're all rubbish. Just do a straight swap with the Fox commentary team. Brendon Julian, Allan Border, Mark Waugh, Damien Fleming & Greg Blewett. I also appreciated Greg Matthews' commentary in the studio for Ten during the IPL season.

A relentless rah rah merchant who's so obsessed with selling the game he simply can't call a cr*p shot a cr*p shot.
Chappelli's realism is a million times better.
Warnie's commentary, other than the locker room moments, actually adds to your knowledge of the game, something a few of the others would do well to focus on.

i have no doubt Chapelli knows what hes talking about but to me he comes across as an arrogant PR!ck that i cant stand, Slats is Gold love how passionate he is and also love how he takes the P!ss out of everyone including himself, taylor and warnie are also good but for me all the oldies can nick off and have Slats, Tubby, Warnie and bring in Boof Lehmann
