Sohail Tanvir, the Pakistan fast bowler, has been ruled out of the New Zealand tour that starts later this month due to a knee injury. His place in the Twenty20 squad will be taken by 24-year-old top-order batsman Asad Shafiq, while no replacement has yet been named for the Tests.

Wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has finally returned to a Pakistan squad, picked on Wednesday for the ODI series against New Zealand. The squad for Pakistan's last assignment before the 2011 World Cup is effectively a shadow squad for the tournament; Akmal changes places with his younger brother Adnan, who misses out.

Pakistan ODI squad: Shahid Afridi (capt), Muhammad Hafeez, Kamran Akmal (wk), Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Asad Shafiq, Umer Akmal, Abdul Razzaq, Abdul Rehman, Saeed Ajmal, Shoaib Akhtar, Umer Gul, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Tanveer, Tanveer Ahmed, Ahmed Shehzad

Chris Martin, one of those players with more wickets than runs, is poised on 199 Test wickets, with PAK only three down...

Today will be his day!

LUNCH DAY 5

Pakistan 3-81 (28)
Younis 24*
Misbah 15* (going for some record like seven fifties in six games or something similar)
Chris Martin 2-24 (9) still on 199 Test wickets

Need 128 more to win

Going to be a tight finish I think MP. Obviously the key to the game is Vettori.

At tea Pakistan 4/160, Younis Khan the only man out in that session, in the last over before tea for 81.

Pakis seem to be going for the draw.

32.2 overs remain in the last session and Pakistan needs 114 to win

With only 114 to get off 30odd overs on a small ground they should of romped it in. Dont know why they would play out a draw.
