David Warner to leave NSW

David Warner has been left out of NSW's shield side again and is seriously considering leaving to gain more opportunities. I think the NSW selectors have him marked down for the shorter versions only but warner wants to be playing shield cricket. With SA's opening woes i think we would be mad not to have a crack at him, what do you guys think?

He's worth a crack, promise him the first few Shield games, he's worth it just for 20/20. If you win the Champions league in India it's 20 million to the Redbacks. With that type of money you could then make a solid recruiting effort to secure a A grade player such as White,Bailey,North,McKay etc... or a young future star such as Hill,J.Pattinson,O'Keefe,M.Marsh etc...Money talks.
Imagine there side for 20/20 if the Redbacks had Warner.

Two words.... Aiden Blizzard
Was not rated by the vics in the four dayers, high regard for the short forms and his the states best shield run maker this season.
Dave is certainly worth a shot.
Cox get him on the phone now!

Agreed, but 0/150 at lunch can also be 2/5 after 3 overs, both openers gone. Warner would be a good investment for the shorter forms of the game....but sa needs an opener to build an innings rather than a slap dash type such as dave. Would he be a successful opener in the longer format?

I love the Idea of him being an opening bat in the longer form of the game, not so long ago Matty Hayden used to Haunt Captains by making them make feilding and bowling changes after 5 overs due to nailing them from the word go, not saying Warner is in the same class as Hayden yet but its an exciting prospect, i think him and Blizard would be a great openin pair and Warner being labelled a flat track bully what better place for him to ply his trade than adelaide oval on a regular basis

Warner would add good depth to the redbacks in the shorter form IMO.
I'd like to see SACA go in for O'keefe too.
Were George, Borgas and Ferg the only south aussies in yesterdays side ?

With our opening partnerships at the moment, Warner must be a priority. His futures record and grade record this year is far superior to any other player in SA atm. He would bring national experience, his fielding is superb and his leggies are developing.
Warner would also increase the revenue in SA cricket. Best thing about him is he has the passion and want to play test cricket. In this day, that is good too see aswell

yep sign him up, but don't wait until the end of the season go & get him first, he's one bloke that can change a game quickly & the test team needs a game breaker as well, (not that i'm suggesting he's the answer to the test team but they do need a gamebreaker like gilchrist, warne & mcgrath were) warner batting on adelaide oval yep i'd be there to see that
saca...don't dilly dally around GO & GET HIM, love bayman

Our most successful shield sides of the last 20 years were built on agressive batting with nobes and bishop at the top of the order, they were hardly build an innings type players and many times had opposition on the back foot

Exactly. Entice him to SA and give him a go. I bet your bottom dollar he would move heaven and earth to succeed for 2 reasons - To gain National Selection, prove the NSW administration and World Cricket that David Warner is not just a one trick pony.

The Redbacks chased him very, very hard last season, but he stayed put, and we got the Blizz instead. I'd like to think he's open to coming to SA at seasons end if he's still not getting a regular game for NSW. Talent to die for. I know he's inconsistent and has flaws, but he's got serious talent.
