When it comes to fast men, Australia seem to have lack of depth. Just wondering what people think about Rofe's chances of playing for Australia. Granted it would probably be when McGrath retires, but i am interested to hear what people think.

At his pace, not a chance.

I have always rated the former DPP...
The fact the SA selectors continue to choose Cleary over him in the one-day side is quite ridiculous...Rofe is a tight*, wicket-taking bowler...
I rate him VERY highly...

Figures of 23.5-9-49-6 in the Pura Cup game against Western Australia in the first innings.
Not only does he tie down ends, but he produces big backs of wickets often, and when he doesn't, he still collects two or three.
Like TB, I rate him pretty highly. And the best thing is, he's still in his early 20s, so there's plenty of him to come.

Half a chance with McGrath goes.
He is quite fast - you should have seen him get from 45 Pirie Street to the TAB...

I think u will find its the fact his fielding is ordinary which stops him from playing more of a role in the One day games for SA. This may mean he doesnt play for a while....he is one of the fittest though...

170 first class wickets in 50 matches at 30 wouldn't seem to reflect this.

Tests - just a good state cricketer if he reproduces 04/05, if he bowls like he has in every other season he should play Test cricket
But I consider him number 6 for the Redbacks in one dayers
