And how many Grade Cricket centuries came from your willow? - As was also said should you have cared to read was that "Ludeman had yet to fail when playing for South Australia as a Batsman or Keeper"
Forget the sarcastic wit, as it is not necessary in this discussion . Look at facts and figures and it is sheer stupidity to suggest that "Manou is STILL the best gloveman in Australia" as he is way down the order these days.
Time for a change to have Ludeman ready to challenge Wade in 3 or so years to come. Lets face it - the job of State Cricket its to get the best players playing for Australia as well, not just be insular and worry about ourselves. This guy along with Wade and Paine are good enough IMO to take over from Haddin at some stage down the track

Another Century to Ludeman as an opening batsman in Grade Cricket on Saturday, when the pitches were made for Bowlers and perhaps even a better gloveman than Manou. Time for the change NOW Jellyback selectors and look to the future. You have a guy here who after Paine is equal with Wade from Victoria as the next best Keeper or most likely to play for Australia in years to come. 21 Years of age and time on his side. Move Jellyback selectors and quick before another State comes and grabs him as has been the case with Harris and Cosgrove and others in recent years. Don't think Ludeman, has failed at any stage when playing for SA in the past with bat or gloves and time is up for Manou. While on Keepers Wade from Victoria (ex Tasmanian) is a gun and in the next 3 or so years might be the one to replace Haddin. Give Ludeman a chance to be alongside Wade when they think of the new Australian Keeper after Haddin, as Manou's best days are well behind him.

Actually it was his first since coming over from Victoria.
Ludeman made 104 runs from 8 matches (avg 14.9) last season for Port Adelaide with a highest score of 46.
This season he has made 134 runs (which includes his 117 yesterday).
Hardly seems to be banging on the door too hard.

I have scored no centuries, hence why i am not pushing for selection with the redbacks, very petty retort.

CH, time to get your facts correct, Ludeman is 23 not 21, his ton was probably his second score over 50 in grade cricket since his arrival, but due to our great selectors he has played SACA cricket as a batsman, albeit in the last 1 day game batting at 9, looked out of his depth. His highest score for SA last year in Manou's absence was a couple of 60's. Before our great selectors decided to promote Manou up the order to impact Test selection, he had a 600+ season with the bat and yes, it got him a tour to England and a Test Match. Manou has consistently made runs every time he plays for Northern Districts. Put your Port Adelaide crap aside and look at the facts and quote them correctly. Oh and start a Tim Ludeman appreciation blog so you can contribute to it.

Curly, you start a post to generate discussion on the Manou / Lunderman topic, you misquote facts that are easily researched (that is where you look things up to ensure they are correct) and then you go off on a tangent and try and turn this discussion into a slanging match. I will quote you some facts.
SA has a history of recruiting keepers to the state - Hendricks (NSW), Yagmich (WA), Wright (WA) all who became the SACA No. 1 in their stay, you would not of heard of any of them because none of them played for Pt Adelaide. Manou is out and out the best keeper SA has produced since Barry Jarman and he remains the best keeper in this State easily. He is around 31 and has 3 to 4 years of good cricket left in him. If Ludeman chooses to remain in this State for that period, his challenge for the keeping role will come from the current crop of youngsters, which we have plenty in Grade Cricket, unless of course Carey's football career stumbles (which I think it will) and he returns to cricket. He will then become the next in line, because he can seriously bat. He was, prior to Ludeman coming to SA the chosen one and Ludeman was only recruited when Carey committed to football. My suggestion to you is to get out of little closet, venture to Adelaide Oval and actually watch Manou wicketkeep, you won't know what you are looking at, but you can trust me that, his footwork and glovework is second to none, by a fair way, I say in this State because I haven't seen enough of other State keepers to comment. He covers the ground like no other. Any curlyhead if you wish to know who I am - pm me and I will tell you.
