Pick your second XI

With so much criticism of the current Australian squad I thought it was worth the punters in here picking our current second XI.

Now, we might not all agree with the first XI I have listed, but lets use it as a template. These guys in our best XI and our probable first Test line up.

Watson
Katich
Ponting
Clark
Hussey
North
Haddin
Hauritz
Johnson
Hilfenhaus
Siddle.

If we use that as our basis for the first XI - Now go and select your second XI, might not be a very strong side at the moment.

Nobody willing to pick a second XI?

Might be a reflection of how hard the current job the selectors have....

I'm only going on this season's form, although White can't come into consideration but I think he deserves a look at along with the injured test players like Harris and Bollinger.

It's interesting that we aren't including Krejza. He's the popular name that comes up when Hauritz is getting bagged. But with Doherty now playing for Tasmania has Krejza fallen away or is he injured?

Krejza is just poo IMO.

And Starc in the second 11, I know it's your opinion but seriously

I would be pretty suprised if he even makes NSWs shield side on Wednesday!

Its about development. Australia A should go back when all players were under 25. In the game they had clarke, white, haddin, cleary, north, tait, cosgrove, doherty and etc. Australia had used these games as development team in tour games now these games can not be seen to lack of tour matches. I would look at starc for the first test of bollinger is strugling as his height and pace would be handy on a GABBA pitch.

I dont think Booney was talking about the side being a developing side. Its about the second best 11 in the country. Starc having played 10 games with only 25 wickets at 35 does not put him in a second best australian side. Mark Cameron would be ahead of him with 11 matches and 45 wickets at 27.

I understand he is promising and a future star, but to even consider him in your second best side in the 4 day game is outrageous

Hughes
Jaques
Kahawja
Ferg
Rohrer
White
Paine
Smith
Siddle
Harris
Cameron
12th - George

If Bollinger plays surely Siddle is Second XI. If Siddle 'goes up' then George. I'd have Cameron up (to Aussie A status) ASAP.

Surely he's a chance there. We are going OK if he can't. We've had Forrest bowling in recent matches although Gumpy would be a much better bat than Starc.

Starc does average 25 in his minimal games in FC cricket!

The shield game your mob would have Bollinger (is he fit), Clark, Cameron and Copeland all ahead of Starc IMO

I was talking about it shouldn't be the best second 11 but who is most likely to play test cricket within the next couple of years. Adding couple of players to look at and see where they are at like white, doherty and jacques

Don't know much about Copeland. Hope Bollinger is OK because Siddle is Bichel lite.

Guess we will have to wait to Wednesday but Copeland ahead of Starc IMO!
Will NSW will play four quicks and Smith? Or 3 quicks and 2 of smith/hauritz/okeefe? Try picking their best side!
