Seriously, who is overrated and overpaid here?

"He averages 36 in first-class matches batting on the Adelaide Oval billiard table - some years ago Matthew Hayden could not get a Test despite averaging 60 on wickets that had branches growing on them at the Gabba."

Sorry Crash but that's a crock. The Gabba has been at worst a very fair wicket and at best an absolute belter. There was a very good reason WHY Haydos averaged 60 there. It was and remains a top track. This description hasn't accurately reflected the Gabba wicket since about the time of the Tied test!

"AT least six members of the Australian team will earn more than $1 million this year, no matter how the team performs."

AND

"This is the age of the silver spoon. Players have never been looked after better.

There was a point early in the recent tour of India where Australia had more support staff than players.

Players not only have personal managers but within the national side have doctors, physios, psychologists, nutritionists, batting and bowling coaches, . . . you name it."

OK Crash, how exactly would cutting pay packets and doing away with support staff help the current team, or assist with the game of Cricket attracting new talent away from other sports?

'Many of the Australia's senior players of the past decade don't particularly like Clarke.

Some see him as the quintessential Generation Y boy, who whinges too much and is quite self-indulgent."

And neither does Crash clearly. Who cares if Clarke is a generation Y boy. The only problem at the moment is that is isn't scoring runs.

I thought this article was absolute garbage that looks like it was scribbled up on a bit of dunny roll just before the deadline while he was sitting on the Kazi.

FORMER Australian chairman of selectors John Benaud has panned the selection panel for painting itself into a corner by not blooding the next group and leaving the national side vulnerable ahead of the upcoming Ashes series.
