The ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) is investigating Pakistan's tour of Australia in 2009-10 to establish whether Pakistan's disastrous on-field performance was the result of what it called a "dysfunctional" team or "something more serious". Paul Condon, the ACSU's outgoing chief, said the investigation was being carried out with the PCB.

Condon's comments, at a press conference at Lord's, come in the wake of reports in the media suggesting reasons for Pakistan's performance. The PCB has been conducting its own investigations into the Australia tour and, over the past few days, a leaked video recording of the committee's hearings has revealed the level of in-fighting and disunity within the Pakistan side, confirming speculation surrounding the level of distrust and discord between senior members of the side.

Senior members of Pakistan's team management on the ill-fated tour to Australia earlier this year raised concerns about a run-out wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal fluffed during the second Test in Sydney, hinting that it may have been more than just a cricketing error. This has emerged in a video, leaked to a leading Pakistan sports channel, of meetings between officials and the six-man inquiry committee which investigated Pakistan's performance in the aftermath of the tour.

The tour is currently being investigated by the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) to establish whether Pakistan's on-field performance was the result of what it called a "dysfunctional" team or "something more serious". This was announced on Thursday by the ACSU's outgoing chief, Paul Condon.

The leaked segments of the video centre around the testimony given by Aaqib Javed and Intikhab Alam, assistant coach and coach respectively on that tour, to the committee. Akmal dropped Michael Hussey three times in the second innings, allowing the batsman to score a hundred that was pivotal in Australia winning the Test having conceded a 204-run lead.

Kamran Akmal, the Pakistan wicketkeeper, has defended his shoddy performance in the Sydney Test during Pakistan's disastrous tour of Australia, following speculation that there may have been more to his misses than just cricketing errors.

"I don't even think about these things, I just concentrate on my performances," Akmal said. "For me not being able to win the Twenty20 World Cup despite the team playing well is heartbreaking enough.

"I have always played for my country and I have already told the PCB about my performances in Australia. Whoever is now making allegations is free to do so but must also prove them."

Not suprised, whilst watching the test,it didnt look right.People can gamble on not just result but many other options and i was convinced Mike Hussey was backed to score a ton.Field placings were ridicolous, for a team that had the game under control.

Kamran Akmal, the Pakistan wicketkeeper, has threatened to sue former coach Intikhab Alam and former assistant coach Aaqib Javed after they raised concerns over a run-out he missed during the Sydney Test against Australia earlier in the year, hinting it may have been more than just a cricketing error. The questions over Kamran's keeping were made during their meeting with the six-man committee set up to inquire into Pakistan's winless tour of Australia, and had emerged in a video leaked to a leading Pakistan sports channel.

"I am fed up with these allegations. My family is disturbed. I go out and people hoot me and I am mentally disturbed. I want to clear this unwarranted stigma with my name," Kamran told Reuters. "I want an apology from these people. I will be speaking to the chairman of the board about this as they are employees of the board. If they don't apologise I intend to go to court in my personal capacity.

"The point is (if) these people suspected me of deliberately under-performing why did they keep on selecting me for other matches," Akmal said
