SS Final VI V QL 2010

Postby mal » Fri Mar 12, 2010 7:06 pm

VI will host the final against a QL team which manages to overperform on a regular basis

LAST 5 GAMES

GABBA 2008
QL 245
VI 353
QL 150
VI 1/45

MCG 2009
QL 302
VI 8/806 DEC
QL 1/187

MCG 2009 FINAL
VI 510
QL 200
VI 5/282 DEC
QL 1/221

MCG 2009
VI 378
QL 195
QL 133

GABBA 2010
VI 316
QL 170
VI 104
QL 9/252

VI has had QL measure until that amazing game at the Gabba when a last wicket partnership of 58 got QL up

The curator, as usual is the key player in this match
With a home final he will be the VI 13th man
A featherbed is likely to snuff out the excellent QL bowling attack

QL rolled VI out for 104 at the Gabba last time they met
That will no doubt influence the curators thinking ...

Hopefully its a close game
VI look the winners however against a QL team that has gained the admiration of myself and a few others this summer
Im guessing most of us will be barracking for the banana boys, unless we have backed VI !

BETFAIR current odds to win the SS
VI $1-38
QL $3-05

RUMOUR ONLY

After tipping them to come last in the shield this year, Queensland have being using a photograph of SAFootys own NortaduMALus as their inspiration. If they do go on to win the shield Mal will be given the key to queensland and unlimted XXXX for the rest of his life.

If QL win :butthead:
Some of my predictions this year
COWAN is too slow and not good enough [leading rungetter in SS cricket]
Why is FINCH playing in front of QUINEY in limited overs games [FINCH burnt after that]
QL to finish bottom in the SS[in the final ]
Steve Smith is a poor bowler in SS cricket [got 7/64 last game if the summer ]

BUT
I have tipped VI to win the SS preseason
So now thanks to WHUFC will have to barrack for VI for my reputation !!!!!

VI V QL has 2 deserving teams playing
NS had a good finish and would have been worthy finalists as well

Definitely doing the entire match. Predicting QLD to win this game, and take home the title. Chris Simpson (im one of his biggest critics) to lead from the front with a quickfire 100, and two lots of 3 fas

The Vics have been in this position before and managed to get out of it, hopefully QLD can keep this up and bury the bastards.

Rogers had a knuckle injury. He tried to bat with it yesterday but the fielding also was an issue

He's thinking about the only thing he has ever thought about, himself. He quit because he knew the IPL was going to start whilst the Sheild Final was still to be played and it was easier to quit earlier than make it so blatantly obvious he's only in it for himself by missing the SS Final to chase $$$$.

On that note, good to see Cameron White come out and say that playing the SS Final was always his number 1 priority and he never considered going to the IPL before the domestic season was completed.

Vics are 7/245. Wade 72 and Wright has smashed 42 of 51.

Queensland letting them get away a bit here as this partnership is worth 84 off just 96 balls.

VI 9/286 STUMPS DAY ONE

WADE 96..... not even Swan could get over him ....and getting very close to 2nd choice AU keeper[MT79 predicted how good he would be b4 playing a game of SS cricket]
HASTINGS 47... in at 6/75 would have liked to get the total to 1066 but did well to help to 7/161
WRIGHT 42....seems to be the wright man for shield finals
PATTINSON 14*
MCGAIN 0*
ROGERS ...was unavailable to play a LONE hand ....
HODGE...made as many as Mcdonald today

What could have been the battler HASTINGS was dropped early and VI would have been about 7/87
6/75
7/161
8/245
9/285
What a sensational recovery by a sensation team who are undermanned with early season stars ROGERS /HODGE not playing...

SWAN 3/57 [20] Is he the best 125km bowler in the land ?
HOPES 2/43 [22] If ever WATTO gets injured he is the replacement
FELDMAN 2/46 [15] must be rolling his eyes on missing a SS hat trick today

Cameron BOYCE
20 year old leg spinner
A stunning selection after 1 first class game given SIMPSON should be expected to be the spinner to assist the 4 fasty bowlers
A very brave selection to play in a SS final
1/59[11] his bowling let VI off the hook
Dont write the baby faced spinner off he bowled ok in patches, but geeeeeeeez what a game to be playing in

Evenly poised and a great game better than the money infested insignificant rubbish games being played by Hodge and co [and no this is not REB or ROD hacking my password...]
