Sachin Tendulkar has just cracked a double ton against the South Africans in an ODI!

Probably only worth 150 anywhere but the sub-continent (still a fair effort though) but just demonstrates why India haven't had a decent fast bowler since Kapil Dev. They play on absolute roads - why wouldn't you want to bowl spin - fast bowling sucks dogs testicles over there....

You have a point am Bays about the pitch, but it's pretty clear from the match report that it was still an outstanding innings, where Tendulkar used all his skills and fitness to make it happen.

The innings was chanceless and at one point had Steyn simply shrugging his shoulders after Tendulkar clipped him through mid wicket from a full-pitched defensive delivery outside off stump.

I dont care what people say, ive played on postage stamps for ovals etc, ive never hit 200 (maybe its coz i have no skills) but either way, the fact that he churned out 200 in a ODI, and against SA nonetheless is absolutely amazing IMO!

You can only play in the conditions and against the sides that are presented to you and he dominated them!!!

Exactly. I read comments on here about the pitch being a road and the oval being a postage stamp, but they have been playing ODIs in India for 40 years, and how many 200s have there been in that time? Only Sachins! The state of the pitch and the size of the over for me in no way lessens his achievement. If it was that easy, others would have done it.
