Mal will be rapt that his man Boom boom Birt is getting a gig.

Looks like a good side. Just need a middle order batsmen to replace Clarke and it would be a good side.

Not sure about Nannes & Tait. taits fielding will again let him down while Nannes took wickets for the Delhi daredevils in the IPL but didnt do much for the Bushrangers. I think he only took 1 wicket in the final. I thought Clint McKay may get a call up for T20.

Good to see Tait rewarded with a berth after some good performances in the big bash.

How can Nannes qualify when he represented the Netherlands last year? Does anyone know the ruling?

Boom Boom Birt is actually a better player in the 50 over format
Hopefully if he gets a gig he uses the 20/20 as a stepping stone

Stunned how Shaun Marsh and Michael Clark get a game
Both are way too slow in this format
The openers will be Watto/Warner so why pick Marsh ?

Please note Marsh and Clarke are both very good 50 over players and Im not being vindictive against either player

I think Marsh is plenty quick enough for this format Mal as he has shown in the big bash and the IPL. I do agree with Clarke though.

I dont watch the IPL
I have based my assesments on Marsh on what I have seen in the Big Bash and International games
Too often he is strking at about 100 after the important first 6 overs, which is way slower than most openers in the Big Bash
Did make a fast 100 in the big bash, but did most of the damage late in that innings

I just hope for Shauns sake that the 20/20 games dont stuff his 50 over form where he excels

He strikes plenty well enough to be a good T20 player IMO. Anyone who can make a hundred off about 60 balls in this format shows he can strike well enough.

Just a question re: Tait, who, apart from him, is the fastest bowler in world cricket at the moment?

Way too harsh on Tait he is clearly one of the most dangerous 20/20 bowlers in the world. We are not talking about test or 50 over cricket here.
