Big Bash Final - Grade Cricket Pass

Postby Browny25 » Fri Jan 15, 2010 2:16 pm

Hi all

Anyone know if the SACA will acknowledge the Grade Cricketers Pass for the T20 Big Bash Finals?

The fine print on the back states - "Valid for entry to all interstate finals if held at Adelaide Oval" - Seems pretty clear cut to me!

Its just that I have heard some rumours that these wont be accepted..... HOW?

My mate has one and he was told it will only be honoured if game is not sold out & if it is sold out they won't let you in at the gate without a proper ticket from ticketek....he is not happy!

Only if it isn't a sellout, as stated earlier.

Otherwise half the crowd will be grade cricket and volunteer passes.

Looks like you won't be getting into the game then. That's fair enough too though. SACA need to be making as much as they can out of this little period. Need to pay the bills somehow.
So you've seen everything have you?

Although i understand the reasons, its not 'fair enough'..............

its a clear breach of the terms written on the ticket.

Could easily have been avoided by saying 'not valid for finals' as do nearly all other season tickets for various sports but in fact it says exactly the opposite.

Bought a ticket from ticket to make sure I got in, but still not happy with it.

I know they have been reported to Consumer Affairs regarding this who are more than interested.

I agree, so they should be taken up on this and I hope dealt with. They knew there was going to be reduced capacity so they should have changed the wording on the ticket. You can see already there is going to be problems with the members ion Saturday night. I will hopefully be there in time but if I hear of one member refused entry due to capacity as they have mentioned might happen, I will not renew my membership. I don’t really understand how fiveaa can accuse members of jumping on the bandwagon and saying things like they need to ‘share the pain’ of the reduced capacity.

The SACA financially are on their knees and very close to receiving a knockout punch so need to make some money from this but that’s not an excuse.

But is it really a cricket match?

So all cricket passes in some respects are null and void....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Was at the Vic game and couldn't get a seat in the members stood in front of the Bradman stand. Behind me taking up 4 seats in the front row were 4 kids about 5 - 7 years old who had NO interest in the cricket at all. Pouring their soft drinks on the ground and watching it run down the steps was more amusing. Very annoying when i've paid $345 for a membership. Must say tho, it was probably 1 st time ever have had that problem at a Domestic game. (not getting a seat that is)

i've got two of those tickets & while it is dissapointing it is also very understanding, especially considering half the oval is unavailable & this give the saca a chance to get some revenue & get afridi & pollard back next year
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

A slight correction to my earlier post.

If you have a Grade Cricket pass or Volunteer pass then you can get in until the ground is deemed full for OHS purposes. Once that is reached, the passes won't get you in.

That won't be applicable in this case though will it, because it is already a sell out, hence the ground will be full???

That's rubbish, they knew all along the ground capacity would be smaller so I have no sympathy for them at all. They should have thought of this before they wrote it on the tickets. You can't just change the rules like that.

it is pure maths you can't get 30,000 people into a ground which can only hold about 18,000 atm....reading smacs last post i'll now be in the early to avoid disappointment & i suggest you do the same ;)

Isn't it a sellout already??? If it is, you won't get in judging by SMAC's post. They aren't going to let all the guys with passes in and then let it get to full capacity and deem it too full to let anyone else in, because what about all the people that would miss out that have actually purchased a ticket and can't get there until a bit later? End of the day, you won't be getting in, no matter how early you get there.

Everyone I know with the season passes actually paid for them. Sure, they aren't expensive, but still paid for...and well before others purchased a ticket for this final. They should have been accounted for.
