There's a Test starting tomorrow...but you wouldn't know it

Postby Rik E Boy » Wed Nov 25, 2009 8:24 am

The day before the International Summer starts and there hasn't been much buzz in BrisVegas about the Test. The Windies are a lame duck and this test will see more empty seats than we've ever seen in an opening Test Match in an Australian Summer.

The way we program our Test matches must be reviewed. Get rid of November test matches in Brisbane and let's send the Windies north to Cairns and Darwin like we did to the Bangers. Forecast is for rain today....here we go again.

regards,

Judging by the response to your thread REB, your observations are very true. No one gives a rats!

Seriously though, I think everyone is just holding their breath hoping that the Windies can at least put up some kind of fight. A shame it's come to this really, some of my earliest memories of test cricket were v the WI's at the Gabba in the early 90's. Still remember watching Healy get his hundred.

The only "Test" will be who can pick how long it goes for.

My bet, Session 1 on Day 4.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

My bet is the Religion thread will last for more days than the whole series.

The West Indies batting lineup is pretty good, they have three world class players in Chanderpaul, Sarwon and Gayle. There bowling will be the problem with Tayor the only one likely to cause any damage. They should be more competive than they have been. I would rate there batting lineup better than Englands that beat us for the ashes. It's just there bowling wont take 20 wickets in a test. I expect Hobart and Adelaide to go into the 5th day on good batting decks.

Haven't missed a test in Adelaide for a very long time and normally look forward to it for months in advance. Not even going this year. Couldn't care less to be honest. Also has a lot to do with the fact half the general admission will now be the members area due to the construction works etc. If anyone wants a members ticket for 5 days of the test, i will swap it for an AC/DC ticket.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

I'm not sure I could care less about this summer's cricket with the West Indies & Pakistan coming out. Plus I've always hated how much Channel 9 always overblow their coverage into some sort of must see epic titanic battle.
