Was Langers retirement Haydens downfall?

I know i'm a bit late on this one guys,But....Is there any merit in the idea of when Langer retired so did Haydens form? Did he have a succesful series after Langer retired?

I reckon just coincidental. Those guys got on a bit in age, similar to Taylor, their reflexes and eye sight probably deteriorated, and we saw the result.

Similar to Gilchrist, Haydens form was also noticeable at first slip. He was dropping catches that earlier in his career he would catch 99/100. Gilchrist stated that about the Laxman drop catch at Adelaide Oval IIRC

Achilles injury really hurt him. When you're in the twilight, so much harder to come back from an injury, and from the point he did that, that seemed to be the end.

Especially for a big unit like Hayden. Seemed to lose his powers of concentration as well.
