The first Test match at the Gabba I ever worked at as a reporter. That rain was truly biblical.
Ian Healy stumping controversy with Brian Lara.
Bruce Reid broke down again and I'm pretty certain this was his last Test match.
We had dropped Shane Warne for some god unknown reason and he promptly took 7-52 in the next Test at Melbourne, nailed Richardson with a super flipper and the legend began.
AB and Merv both got done by Steve Randell (still in prison these days I think) for dissent on the last day as we failed in a press for victory. AB blew off the hearing and didn't even attend, so the ICC wanted to suspend him, but ACB talked Raman Subba Row out of rubbing him out, as Border was just short of 10,000 runs and Gavaskar's world record.
Dean Jones was dropped for Damien Martyn and never played Test cricket again.
Mark Waugh had held his spot after four consecutive Test ducks.
Had a bit to write about over that week or so.

FWIW it wasn't long after this that the Brisbane Bears with a young Nathan Buckley were subject to some of the biggest hailstones seen at a game at Waverly during the 1993 AFL season.
