The coverage must have been ordinary so far as I didn't even realise SA started Tuesday! Looking forward to that as it will keep me occupied at work...

Can anyone with pay TV tell me what the coverage is like?
I don't mean during the matches, but in terms of advertising, pumping the game up. I have a feeling that the lack of Domestic cricket on free to air TV is not good for the game. I hope the expensive version at least does it some justice.
I love that I've got a sport channel to watch these days, but I must admit that every time I see a Baseball, Basketball (NBA) or Football (NFL) ad, I can't help but wish I was seeing an ad for the cricket instead. And no, for me the IPL or T20 Champions League just doesn't quite cut it. I still watch now and again, but I fantasise about straight bats and whites. Well, maybe fantasise is a bit strong, but still...

The only Shield game Fox Sports show is the final. However they show a huge amount of Ford Ranger Cup (one-day) games including mid week games, day/night games etc (they're starting their FRC coverage tomorrow with a WA vs QLD D/N game) & I think all of the KFC Big Bash games (Twenty/20).
I love Fox's domestic cricket coverage and prefer their commentary team over Channel Nine's crew back when they had the rights. Guys like Mark Waugh, Damien Fleming, Allan Border, Brendan Julian, Greg Blewett & cameos from Jason Gillespie, Darren Lehmann, Rodney Hogg & Michael Kasprowicz among others. They do do plenty of advertising and pumping up of the domestic games especially when the season get's going. The crowds are similar to when it was on FTA except D/N's get decent crowds and the Twenty/20 games get excellent crowds so they have a pretty good atmosphere too.

IF ITS FREE ITS FOR ME
If I was the SACA I would throw the gates open for Sheffield Shield games
To charge the few people that continue to roll up is demeaning
20/20 over blinkfests attracts a young vibrant crowd
I would put the prices up for 20/20 cricket for that crowd, who will still roll up to make up finances
The loyalists, the tradionists and the real cricket placardists can watch the SS games for free
Once we can all get in for free to see the SS games, we can then lobby the SACA to make the car parks for free
Paying $4 car park fees to watch a midweek SS game is too much
Particularly when Im told it all goes to the greedy greedy city council
I would morally accept paying $4 if the funds went towards cricket development
If it still goes to the council + nothing for cricket, I feel insulted

Mal, SS is free this year already mate.
And park your car on War Memorial Drive in the 2 hour spots for free and move it to a new spot in the breaks.

Is it really free?
And there are many places to park without having to spend a cent. Done it many times.
