England vs Australia-1st ODI

Postby Gozu » Fri Sep 04, 2009 5:29 pm

The series starts tonight at 9:30pm on both Fox and SBS with a pre-game show on Fox from 9pm. Hopefully this series doesn't end in farce much like the Twenty/20 series and we actually get to see some cricket. I gather Paine will be the keeper with Haddin ruled out of the series and the ICC Champions Trophy with his finger injury. Supposedly Brett Lee is raring to go and although he was only able to bowl one over in the T20 series due to rain that bouncer to Denly was a ripper. We've got to get something out of this tour.

I'd love to know why we have to wear the dark green at home when this outfit looks much better.

The video replay looked a bit inconclusive to me...

THought it should've been the benefit of doubt to the batsman then

3/111 after 25

Clarke 7*
Ferguson 0*

White 53
Watson 46
Paine 0

Anderson to Watson, OUT, terrible run! Dabbed to backward point and Watson calls him through, but Collingwood's quick onto it and has all three pegs to aim at, running out Paine by at least two yards!

What in the name of village was Watson thinking of? That was a horribly poor run. "I feel his Paine," snorts Miller. Get out.

I had a quick look, and the angle I saw was from behind the keepers gloves.
From the point, you couldnt see the bails dislodged, but the stumps were a little bent.

Tight call

I think that's to do with Commonwealth Bank's exclusive sponsorship.

I didn't know the logo of CB had any green in it. Ironically one of their colours is gold!

Ferg reminds me of Lehmann in the way he guides the ball - by holding the bat out a fair way from his body. Like an artists' stroke.

I dont think it does either lol but I think they wanted to create a "unique" uniform for the sponsorship and given we wear gold/yellow every where else they came up with the green purely for the home ODI's.

Was just thinking the exact same thing, why would Johnson bowl 7 overs 3/24... and be replaced by Watson 6 overs for 40??
Also Clarke is so boring with the bat!!!

I enjoy the Australian Gold, not the crap Green that we have now. Everyone knows that Australia wears the Gold, which is why South Africa wears Green and other countries try and not wear alot of Gold.
